1980s Gitane Champion French racing bike - $200 (Jamaica Plain)

A beautiful vintage racing bike with a cotterless crank, steel frame with original logos, and original parts (from what I can tell) including cloth tape bindings, cotterless crank, and single pull brakes.

In decent shape--there's some rust, some small punctures in the leather seat cover. The frame is straight without any bends or dents (some minor nicks and scratches though). Could use a general tune up, a brake job (a little frozen on both sides), and some cleaning, but should be a great and unique commuter or collector’s piece with some love put into it.

"I believe it is a late 80's Dave Tesch Hwy 101. Has campy frame parts, dropouts and headset have campagnolo stamps.
The rest is full dura-ace 8speed
Previous owner had painted a nice blue color. The stem is a salsa and the bars are 3ttt, saddle is new turbo.
Frame has 62 stamped so probably a 62cm. I'm 6'2" and it fits perfect.

Paint that thick usually looks far worse than that and Tesch's are pretty hard to come by so........

Here's a mid-80s Ridge Runner. I was never a fan of the chain stay mounted brakes, but I think the Ridge Runner was at or near the top of the list of Miyata's early mountain bike offerings. Nice Miyata frame (and I like the pink on black), and I bet those Deore XT thumb shifters alone would probably fetch a fair portion of the seller's $120 asking price. I'm headed to Denver in a couple of weeks, but I don't think this will be waiting for me.

Obviously very rusty, and the condition is listed as salvage, which is less than encouraging, but I've never seen a "Signature Series" Ross mtb before. Very thin lugs around the seat cluster- this could be a cool frame. If it's a bust, it still has expensive pedals!
