In short, I'd have to try it, even just once..
Very low incidence of failure, as far as I know, but one failure and the resulting lawsuit is all it takes sometimes. If you were in the cycling scene back in the '80s, you might not have seen one of the bikes even before the recall. I don't think they were out for a full model year.

I did not hesitate to ride mine a few times. Nice little bike, as I said.

At least it has a real shock on it (later production) and not those early elastomers. I sold them for a couple of years.

He might have better luck selling it if he'd included a fork. Yeah, I've seen some bad things with old rmelted elastomers.

Came with a Girvin Vector II fork but takes a normal Aheadset and telescopic, if you'd prefer. Nothing to keep you from building it up like that.

I saw no mention of why they were recalled. I assume some defect in the frame?

The Pechiney Process was the fastening method for the aluminum lugs and aluminum tubes, and evidently there was at least one failure at one of those joints.

Be interesting to see if it could be identified, guessing it's a custom/independent build with a Cinelli BB

Paramount PDG $550

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...Anull%7D%22%7D

Early 1990s Schwinn Paramount PDG 70 mountain bike! This was my commuter bike but I've been forced to change to a more upright riding position.. Made in Japan from Tange Prestige chromoly steel! 21 speeds. Comes with many high end parts! Shimano XT derailleurs, XT indexed thumbie shifters, Mavic rims, XTS hubs and headset. Panaracer pacela gravel tires, cables, and brake pads installed last autumn! It has some marks from use but functions perfectly and is a pleasure to ride! Shipping if necessary will be $150 from Summerville, SC 29485. Local pickup encouraged!
