Romic bicycles were built by the late Ray Gasiorowski, dba Romic Cycles, Houston, TX, from the mid-70's until 2003. It’s my understanding that the last 2 digits of Romic serial numbers indicate the year – so this frame was built it 1977, I guess. Check out the lug work – not the most ornate I’ve seen, but very nice.
Beneath 30 years of garage dust is a rare American classic. You just won’t find many of these high quality steel-frame bikes out there at any price. All components are in great shape (except brake lever hoods, handlebar tape and tires – they’re shot) and it needs a complete service job. But then this thing will ride like the wind again. Wind that smells like 1983. If you have a thing for vintage road bikes (and you’re tall) this could be the bike for you!
Campagnolo “Record” high flange hubs, 36 hole w/ Campy skewers.
Campagnolo headset.

Schwinn Le Tour Luxe for 5'10 to 6'2" - $199 (berkeley north / hills)A nice touring bike with Columbus Tenax double butted tubing. Triple front chainring. The frame has a short 57 cm toptube and a 62 cm seat tube making it a good choice if you want a more upright position. The longer seat tube means the handlebars are 2 inches higher vs a 57/57 frame. Rides well makes a good all round bike suitable for touring grocery, shopping, road riding and gravel or fire roads.

This bike would be good for short trips about town or longer tours. I used it to ride from Fort Brag to SF stopping 4 nights in State Park bike camps. It is a tripple chain ring with 6 sprockets in the cassette for 18 speeds.
