Centurion Super Elite road bike - $175 (NW reno)

This is a large classic road bike built for someone over 6' tall. I am selling it for my father-in-law. I'd guess the bike was built circa 1980. It's made in Japan and has double-butted Tange Champion tubing. The frame is made of lugged steel.

I'm assuming the tires are 27" but they are dried and old and I cannot read anything on the sidewalls. It's possible they are 700c but for a bike from this era, 27" seems more likely.

The bike is in remarkably good condition for its age, but the tires are shot. It has been in a storage shed for quite a while. The components are pretty clean and I think this bike has seen very little use. The paint is in overall good condition, but there are a few small dings here and there. No dents that I can find. The gears seem to shift fine (friction shifting) and it has a 5-speed rear cluster.

This bike would be a decent rider with a set of new tires and tubes. I'd probably switch out the brake pads as well since they are most likely the original pads. This would also make a great candidate for a 700c conversion. There is tons of clearance for wider tires for someone that wants to built a retro gravel bike. If the bike was my size, I would definitely keep it, swap the wheels, throw on some wider dirt-friendly tires, and make it into one of the coolest adventure bikes in Washoe County.

Most of the components are Suntour. Brakes are Dia-Compe. These go for well over $300 on eBay.
