Schwinn 434 aluminum 14-speed road bike - $150 (Fort Mill, SC)

https://charlotte.craigslist.org/bik/d/fort-mill-schwinn-434-aluminum-14-speed/7372559528.html

I found two spare replacements seatposts for mine within a few days of buying it. There are other options too.

I have one of these stashed too, just in case. This clamp will allow you to use a normal seatpost if needed.

I didn't really get to know my 684 to well before my adult son took it. But the few rides I had on it were surprisingly good. I just recently got it back and have parts set aside to put some STI style 7 speed shifters on it.

bargo68 I found the listing and that means if we ever meet, you owe me a drink!
Ps. I truly envy your good fortune. I had a Lux but at 59cm it was simply too small a frame (I ride a 63cm) and I moved it on to Ididomoy - who promised me a photo of the bike on Red Square in Moscow! Anyway, that Fuso Lux was my gateway drug and one day I'll find one that fits me. Envious.

It's in pretty great shape for 1985. It's from the original owner and he has it registered at the Moulton registry. I'll be re-registering it after I finish the build.
The Imron paint has a few chips in the usual places but I'd say 8 out of 10.
My plan is to take the entire Campagnolo Super Record group from my Univega Super Special and probably sell the frame since it's too big for me.
Really looking forward to getting this on the road!
That’s awesome! Glad someone got it from BF!

600 tri-color, under bb cable routing, and internal cable in tt imply late 80s early 90s to me...
Looks like a nice frame. And color matched Silca Impero is a bonus.

retired race bike fits 5'-5'-6"-ish tall - $200 (West Newbury)

Racing bike from the late '70's or early '80's fitted with straight handlebars and grip shifters. Very good working order.

Not that it matters if you have spare quill posts but are you sure that clamp would work with that tapered seat lug?

Also, I would still want a shim further down the SP inside the ST to stabilize the long lever end.

I did a test fit and it seemed like it would. You'd till use the right size seatpost so I'm not sure why you'd need a shim. That said, if I had to seriously come up with a solution there are at least two other proven solutions. Several folks have made their own quill seatposts and still others just slotted and drilled the top of the seatpost area of the frame like a normal bike and used a standard clamp. A little digging here should find examples of both. Needless to say I looked into this before buying mine and figured there were plenty enough solutions out there to not let the quill seatpost worry me. Especially as cheap as these bikes usually are. You could part them out and be fine in most cases. If I remember correctly I paid $80 for mine.

Just a curiosity as to whether the Bella and the Alfana purposely have mismatched wheels or tires. I think the wheels for the Alfana are.

Small dent tot op tube
https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/b...372789359.html

Miyata 600 GT - $200 (Streetsboro)

Feel the ride quality of real steel! This retro Miyata has a triple butted chromoly 57cm frame from Japan. It's perfect for touring with its 21 speed Barcon shifters, Shimano Deore front mech, Suntour XCM rear mech, and XCE cantilever brakes. 700c wheels make it easy to ride and to find tires which it shouldn't need for a while since it has new Continental Ultra Sports on it! The seat has a small fear and there's a very small ding on the top tube (see pictures). No trades, price is firm, no shipping, prefer you pick it up. Located in Streetsboro, OH.

Dave built Paris-Sport bikes in New Jersey when he got here and later worked for Masi and then himself. Merz was already at Big S when Dave went to Masi so with little to no overlap in the timeline, they probably missed each other, who knows.

That and Merz "only" built around 400 frames and even though he sold through Cupertino, Palo-Alto, Adams Ave, California Peddler and Pacific Coast Cycles. He didn't promote himself much, the bikes and their following did that. It seems like just as he was really getting to be well known, he pulled the plug and went to Big S. Maybe he didn't want to ramp up production and compromise quality, again, who knows.

For $65 - buy for the parts on the Peugeot (fenders and bars) at minimum. I think those are aluminum rims on the Fuji, not rust, just dirt
https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/...373092590.html

2 bikes, Fuji and Peugeot - $65 (Newburgh)

Take the 2 for $100, they need some TLC have not even tried to pump up the tires.

So far I have a Tubular wheelset, about $500 worth of tools and another $3-500 in parts at a mailbox rental store in Niagara Falls, NY and a Technium in the garage of @Schreck83. I have to wait until that nice Mr Biden allows me across the border before I order anything more. But a Fuso for $300 !?!? Tempting very tempting....

Wonder why seller says it's "really a wall hanger"????

Andy_K Forget the campy tools, those are campy hubs!!!

Knowing my luck it was all super cheap. Let me guess, seller said "3 hubs for $10"?
Anyway, glad you're happy and got something. A local woman posted a Mixte for $25 with terrible photos, saying she didn't know who made it. I replied asking the wheel size as I needed some wheels. She said she'd ask her neighbour (?) about the wheels and later replied he said it had 24 inch tires. I thought they'd be either 700c or 27 inch and asked her to read the sidewalls. She replied they were 27s and I said I had to wait until my son came home with my truck but I'd be right over. By the time my son came home the she emailed to say her neighour took it. To add insult to injury, she said that when she looked the sidewalls she saw the frame had a sticker that said "531" and when she mentioned that sticker to her neighbour, he told her he wanted it because it "was a good bike". @W%~(EE%~!!!

They were generally asking pretty ambitious prices. They were asking over $2000 for the carbon Fondriest bike, and I think around $1300 for the aluminum one. The hubs were marked at $30 each, so I passed on them when I went on the first day of the sale. I was in the neighborhood again the next day for a bike a bike ride and decided to stop by and peruse the dregs. I ended up getting all three hubs for $30. The bearings felt a bit rough, but it turned out the lock nuts were just over tightened. I hadn't even seen the Campy bottom bracket/headset tools the first day, but I got them on my second visit at $35 for the pair. Not exactly yard sale bargain deals, but not bad.
