Speaking of tall....

...also Suntour barcons and Superbe RD. But if you need a frame this big that's all just details, right?

These usually seem to sell for more. Basically you're getting a frame and forks set for $300 with some spare parts, but it's an impressive set anyway
Ps. When seller says "Is missing back tire", I think she means whole wheel.

I am no expert about GT Saturn team bikes but I read a little bit up about this bike and the history about the Saturn racing team.
It seems there were the team bikes but also a very similar looking promotion bikes handed out by Saturn dealers. These promotion bikes were of lesser quality and had for example TIG welding and a steel fork instead of a carbon fork.
The welding in the picture looks like TIG and also the position of the Reynolds and Saturn sticker is different (which could of course have changed over the years on team bikes too).
Does anyone has more information about the team bike and how to distinguish it from the promotion bike?

For sale: a superb 1980's Miyata 1000 Men's Road / Touring Bike, made in Japan with all original components. Noted bicycle authority Sheldon Brown called the Miyata 1000 "possibly the finest off-the-shelf touring bike available at the time".[14] The 1000 was marketed in the U.S. from the late 1970s and marketed in North America until about 1993.
Comes with a 62 cm frame (splined, double-butted Chromo tubing) best for riders 6'0 to 6'3 (standover height is 34 1/2"), 15 speeds, Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, down tube shifters, Araya 27 1 x 1/4" Alloy rims, Avocet saddle and kickstand.
Accessories: Fenders, Double Cargo Rack (front and back), pedal cages and fully functional vintage light generator.
The bike is in excellent condition and ready to ride as-is. Cash and pick up only.

Not sure what's going on with this ad???
Is it all shown for $295? Is $295 for one? Is $295 a random number?
Interesting lug work on right hand bike.
Only way they are 24 inch frames is if they went through a compactor

For some unknown reason. Lore maybe? I've always found it a bit of a head scratcher. If Sheldon Brown hadn't mentioned it I suspect it would be no more valuable than the other top tier Japanese touring bikes of the era.

It is truly bike-buying season here in NYC--but I have a feeling this was sold long before I sent my email, if it's even legit in the first place.

Got a 91' and $600 wouldn't be of interest. Hard to find great condition Japanese made touring bikes.

Doesn't look bad for $75 (especially as a parts bike)
First order of business is to scrape of those Specialized decals on this "Trek"
