89 Performance Road Bike - $50 (Longmont)
Old road bike from Performance. It could be a good commuter bike. It may need some minor maintenance like some new brake pads. Overall still rides fine.

Thank you for your interest in this bicycle.
It is available. The listing title will be changed to Pending when someone is looking at it and deleted when sold.
This is a 1985 Miyata 1000 in Royal Platinum (Dark Grey Metallic) with Black decals. It is a 23.5" / 60cm / Large (center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube) Spline Triple Butted Cro-Mo lugged Steel frame with a Cro-Mo steel fork. The stand over height is 33.5" directly in front of the saddle.
There are 15 speeds available through the Shimano three ring (50/42/28t) alloy chainset with 170mm alloy crank arms and the Shimano 600 5 gear (14-28t) freewheel. The pedals are alloy MKS Esquartz 107 with steel toe cages and black Miyata leather straps.
The rear derailleur is a Shimano Deore XT Deer Head RD-M700 (with Super Plate System) and the front is also a Shimano Deore XT Deer Head (it even still retains the "For Half Step Gearing" sticker). Shifting is through Shimano Down Tube Friction Shifters.
Both wheels are Araya alloy rims drilled for Presta valves laced to quick release Sansin Gyro-Master alloy hubs. The rear is a 40 hole hub and the front is a 36 hole Both wheels have brand new 700x32c" black wall tires. There are Suntour dropouts with wheel locators.
Braking is handled by Shimano front and rear Cantilevers. The brake levers are alloy Shimano 600 levers with black hoods.
The black Serfas GelFlex M20 saddle is mounted to an alloy seat post that moves freely in the seat tube.
SR Randonneur alloy handlebars are mounted to a Technomic alloy stem. The stem is not frozen in the steering tube.
There is a bottle cage on the down tube and bosses for another on the seat tube and under the down tube. There are eyelets for front and rear fenders. A rear rack is installed and Blackburn racks for front paniers are mounted to the forks.
The bicycle rides, turns, stops and shifts through all of the gears and rings as it should.
The Miyata 1000 is considered by many to be the best production touring bike ever made. It is certainly on the same level as the other holy-grail 80's touring bikes, the Specialized Expedition and the Trek 720, though the 1000 uses Miyata's proprietary splined, triple-butted tubing. Equipped with full braze-ons and three water bottle mounts, the 1000 was an especially capable and well-designed frame set. It has clearances for fenders with 700 x 35 tires, and sports a nice long wheel base (see the fork curve) for comfortable riding over long distances. Miyata also used very durable paint on their higher end bikes. This bicycle also has a proper 40 spoke rear wheel as a loaded tourer should. Claimed weight is 25.5lbs.
For less than the price of a generic Bike Shaped Object that anyone might buy online or from a store that sells bicycles in the Toy Department, you could be riding this vintage bicycle with quality components. The fact that it is still rolling down the road is a testament to how well it was built.
Please ask any questions you may have about this bicycle or let me know if you need any other pictures.
The bicycle is located in Taylor Texas, about 45 minutes north east of Austin; an hour south of Waco or two and a half hours west of Houston.'

This just posted in S. Philadelphia...though the link seems to be through Baltimore. Don't think the frame size is 50", but a hell of a lot of bicycle for $350 bucks!
If I wasn't 500 miles away, I'd at least go "kick the tires".
Vintage Harry Havnoonian Road Bike for sale. Good condition. See pics for information. Saddle bag with spare tubes tools included. Text me with questions or if interested
bicycle frame material: other/unknown
bicycle type: road
frame size: 50 cm

Raleigh Kodiak touring bicycle. Purchased by my dad 40ish years ago. Newer tires, tubes, and seat. Some scratches on the frame. No test rides, but will refund if it doesn’t work out for you.
Make an offer. Unsure on the market for these things
