Just a little C&V side note. We're thinking of driving to Nashville TN so I naturally dug out the road atlas and cross referenced with Craigslist for towns along the way to search on CL; Charlottesville, Lexington, Roanoke, Southwest Virginia, Tri-cities, Knoxville, Cookeville, Nashville. I was surprised how few treasures there are to tempt me en route so I can look forward to a trip without serious distraction. That may change, of course, as we get closer to the departure. I did see a couple of interesting things but I've already posted them here and if seriously tempted by them would never have told you about them.

It’s close. It is smaller than it seems but I will make it work. I was telling @Mad Honk I was glad you pushed me over the edge on that AND the Mercian. Those were two purchases where I wasn’t mad at myself for N+1 more.

Which Mercian did you buy? Link? I have a friend in the UK who is very close with Mercian and I have now been buying some vintage NOS parts from them etc. They are very very nice guys and I am hoping to add a Mercian to my collection soon. I have had 2 fall thru my fingers so far!!

This bike is accurately priced as-is. It's not dear. That set up would take you years to find and cost 2x the price all-in.
