Bike Flights won't touch it and Fedex says $260 to ship to Niagara Falls, NY

Anyone know a better (cheaper) way?

If this was nearer or nearer my size... I've been in touch with the seller and was provided some additional photos:

It looks to have a full Suntour Vx Group, placing it in the late '70s. I still think there's a Serial Number on the BB we haven't yet seen, but who knows?
I have no connection to the Seller.

What's the matter, saddle? Feeling down?

The first shop I worked at in High School Univega was our premier line and I was consistently impressed by their build quality and overall finish for the price. Really really nice bikes. The owner actually raced actively on the top of the line model I think it was called the Super Special.

Greyhound station-to-station. I sent two bucket seats boxed together, about 2'x2'x4' and at least 70 pounds from here to Seattle for about $80. Worth a look.

Check with shipping via Greyhound. The seller would need to take it to one of their stations, and you pick it up from one. Their rates are all over the place; maybe you're lucky.

I thought of Greyhound straight away but I wasn’t sure if they are still around. I don’t think I’ve seen one here in Ft Wayne

a freight forwarder like YRC or SAIA might do it but again you’ll likely have to get it at the dock.

Don't mind getting something at the dock, years ago I had a heavy gun safe shipped to a freight yard and saved a ton. Not sure that the bus travels everywhere anymore(?). I will try Amtrak as well.

Seller says it's 531 but no stickers present and paint is clearly an issue

https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/d/...472510197.html

Astro-Daemlier Reynolds 531 Ultegra bike - $175 (Lampasas,Tx)

This is a vintage circa 1980s Astro-Daemlier road bike made with Reynolds 531 steel. The standover height is 33", and the seat tube measures 22", thus being sized for someone 5'8" to 6'o". The bike has been professionally Rhino coated as the original colors were red and bark blue, but over time have faded to pink and powder blue. Thus the reason for the covering. It also prevents corrosion of the frame. There are a few areas of this bike where you can see the original faded paint. The 14 speed bike has Dura-Ace front and rear derailleurs with the front crank being 53/39, and the rear cluster being 14/28, this giving it a very wide range of gearing. The bike weighs 21 pounds, certainly a light weight for its time. The brakes have been upgraded to Modolo front and rear. The saddle is a new ERGO. The Continental Ultra Sport tires are 700/23, and are relatively new. The handlebar tape is new. You can have your choice of the currently shown SPD pedals, platform pedals. The bike has been serviced and is ready to ride. The bike is located in the old Lampasas Post Office. The price is $175.

If interested, Do Not text or email. Instead call Joe in Lampasas at 2 1 0 - three two 6 - eight eight 9 2. Since I won't recognize your number, just leave a message and I will return your call ASAP. Come take a test drive in beautiful Lampasas.

There are also several web sites now for hauling bids where you post the load details and shippers place bids on what they would charge you to deliver. If one of them already has a load going to MN to NY you might catch a deal especially since the box isnt really that big.

That seems like a very fair deal - love that seat lug detail!!! Shame about the rust on it! The rest of the chrome looks decent to me. I wonder if the owner knew that seat was designed for BMX - looks like an old Kashimax! Too bad its so big or I could refurbish it at the same time as that Pogliaghi Track bike I just bought here. Turns out the paint was much rougher than it appeared in the CL pics.

Belongs to local BMX trader. Pretty sure he would trade for those.
