"Lightweight all aluminum 1973 Vitus 12-speed racing bicycle with many Campagnolo components. Ready to ride! And original Campagnolo shifters on the down tube, correctly adjusted, arching cables, period aluminum water bottle cage. Retro cool, like a vintage Rolex Daytona.

Vitus is a French company based in Etienne, France that made racing bicycles. They were famous for lugged aluminum frames, and competed with Columbus and Reynolds in producing lightweight bicycle tubing suitable for racing. Aluminum was a lightweight alternative to double butted steel.

Vitus made these frames for many other companies such as Peugeot, in which case their bikes bore the label Vitus tubing.

Made by French artisans who bicycle great distances on diets of fromage, baguettes and escargot while smoking unfiltered Galois cigarettes while complaining about the state of the government and the general lack of more public assistance.

This Vitus is in exceptional shape, with original frame and fork decals intact. Campagnolo parts include the rear derailleur, front derailleur, and rims. Original French Mistral cranks. I even have the original Made in France handlebar plugs.

It works perfectly and would make a worthy daily driver.

This Vitus will come with new Gatorskin tires and fresh bar tape.

Frame size is approximately 55 cm, for riders 5’7 to 6’2"
