Was that a smaller wheel conversion or did it really come with that much clearance for fenders. Rear drops seem eyelet free, but front fork has an eyelet or two it seems?
Campione del Mondo...interesting bike. Well worth the price, though.

Interesting bike that's fully chromed under the paint

Yep I had one of these, just a different year. Really nice riding, surprisingly fast, and you really couldn't tell it had an aluminum fork. On a shakedown ride after sorting mine out I had fellow come racing up on me riding a Cervelo all tucked in, etc. I had just gotten warmed up as he approached so I opened the old Bridgestone up and ran the next couple of miles in the high twenties speed wise. The other guy fell off gassed after a mile or two. Good fun and I was surprised how well the Mile 112 held a high speed under my meager power. This is a steal of a price!.

Looks like you'd be able to get a more upright riding position without slamming the seat post, and yet...

I think this imight be a "Gran Turisimo" mid-range frameset (maybe Falck tubing, hopefully better than gaspipe) that's been treated to many upgrades to make it an "improved" Tourist, including those wheels.
This may have come with steel 27" rims before the upgrades, as well as cottered steel crankset. Also the stamped DO on this model does have one eyelet, but just one.
Here's a photo album courtesy of the CR "Italy" section

I also have a feeling your meager power is anything but that, it would take a 20mph tailwind to get me down that road.
