Looks like an original Rock Combo. You never find these for sale. This one is beautiful, but probably waay overpriced.

Strange trek, looks like relaxed geometry but cannot place...1983 range? Appears repainted but looks like it has not ridden in some time. curious if anybody recognizes model. May not even be a trek!

Maybe a 620 from the early 80s? I had one that looked very similar and still regret parting with it. Just as well it was about 1-in smaller than my usual size ...

Can't be a 620, the geometry's too tight. I think it's a 760 or 7xx racing frameset; if you look carefully, there's a divers helmet cable stop under the DS chainstay which was found on most 7xx racing frames.

@philpeugeot @rustystrings61

Is it possible it is not an original fork...?
I think most of the higher end Treks in the early 80s had an investment cast fork crown, rather than the integrated crown-blade fork (unless my eyes are deceiving me here).

Could it be a 560?

This is a corporate ad, not a random weirdo, but… this Mercedes e-bike has a 1hp motor.

One! They had to triple it to get to one. The car on the right has 268.

Ditto on the 560 replacement fork. I should have been more careful in my evaluation.

Hi Thumpy, that Rockcombo gets around! He must have ridden it all the way from Calgary in a matter of days. I'd like to meet that man.

re mystery trek yes a integral fork. Do not think they were ever used so probably replacement unless original owner swapped from get go. The neuvo derailleur made me think 1980 7xx but rear wheel looks pretty far from frame. Also weird on how repaint looks newish but hoods etc look way old. Ahh well if closer I would take a look to get SN.

Trust me, I am NO expert on anything...I just remember the upper levels used that Haden crown with the tangs attached.

If a 560, I think this might still be that last year for Reynolds 501 tubing before they went to TruTemper?

It's a 1984 660, original paint, original fork, most of the components look original too. The more entry level racing Treks 1984 had the engraved seatstay caps like all of the 1983 frames, and they used the same aero fork crown as the 1983 560; the 760, 770 and 170 were transitioned to the integral fastback seat lug and Tange fork crown in 1984. The 660 was sort of an unusual model because it was full Reynolds 531 just like the 760 and 770 but it didn't use the new lugs. In 1985 all the racing frames featured the new lugs and the engraved seatstay caps were no longer available.

Looks like an '84 660 with a different fork.

Interesting. I think you are right, which makes the gone decals odd.

I've seen other bikes with multiple (suspicious) listings but have not seen this Rock Combo before. Not surprised, though.

Is anyone near this? I know Johnson City is in an odd place. We used to get water heaters from there, hated those loads. Anyway this is interesting, I know it isn’t a super fancy but but it’s a inexpensive way to get a triple triangle frame. I think I see a Infinity sticker. Paying a shop to pack and ship might make it too much to worry about

In Hell and Gone Idaho so might still be there.

Seller says travels to Missoula as well, if that helps someone

Damage seems minor, if I was looking I could live with it for $200

Miyata 1000 LT - $200 (Polson)

58cm c-c Miyata 1000 LT grail touring bike. I rode this in a local day ride last fall and it truly is a luxurious ride, despite an owner who was overzealous with bolt ons and put some crimping in the DT and chain stays. Due to this condition, it was to be relegated to bad weather, gravel and cyclocross duties. But I also realized during the all day ride that it is a size too big. So I am letting it go for what I roughly have into it. $200. Cheers 2o7-o186. I travel to Kali and Missoula regularly.

I'm not sure if I posted this one before or not. Besides the brake hoods it looks pretty clean. 1984(?) Voyageur for $300.
