This one I'm thinking about getting myself, but I think it still qualifies for this thread.
1990-1-2-3 (??) Specialized Rockhopper Sport in mid-Michigan for $125.
It has semi-horizontal dropouts, which are useful when converting to a gear hub. This could be my next winter beater, and the studded tires will probably cost more than the bike, so why not. Rim brake in front, coaster brake in back, rack and fenders, and I should be good until retirement
But I'll ride it as is first. I've never even owned a mountain bike.
