531 Frame and fork point to a 7xx, I think they added the panel behind TREK in 80/81. Looks like Cyclone front and rear derailleurs, and I'm assuming a Campy crank based on the fluting. I've spent more for less.
EDIT: I should try reading more. Didn't realize the seller listed parts. That's what I get for commenting at 2 am

Mystery Trek in East Lansing, MI, offered for $225, which I think is optimistic. But it looks to be in good shape, and it's my size, and I'm still mad I didn't get the 620 from last year to work out.
Seller says:
Trek road bike, in excellent condition, with only very light use. Late-1980s model 24-inch (61-cm) aluminum frame (Reynolds 531) SunTour Cyclone front and rear derailleurs, with down-tube shifters SR crank (52x40), pedals, stem Rear 6-speed cassette (approx. 14x28) Dia-compe brakes Shimano hubs Rigida rims Water bottle cage Requires replacement handlebar tape and plugs, and brake-lever hoods (which are corroded, as is typical).
I'm thinking there is too much space between the tire and the seat tube for this to be anything but an 80s touring bike; the 531 fork makes me think 6xx or 7xx, and the lack of cantilevers makes me think no later than '84. Brakes are nutted -- didn't that stop before then? The monochrome color without panels would argue against high-end, though. So I really don't know.
Opinions, anyone? Thanks in advance!
It's on Nextdoor, so who knows if the link will work...

Trek Y-Foil 60cm $600 in San Jose

somebody jump on this one ASAP!!!! It’s too big for me at 60cm. Is it really 60cm though? It looks smaller.

Full 531. Are those Campy cranks (Gran Sport) or SR Apex (I think they are)? It seems like that it might be a 1979ish 714 maybe? They came with VX derailleurs so maybe they upgraded. If it is Campy crank, maybe a 737, they replaced the derailleurs and brakes over time (those look like DiaCompe or Weinmanns). I am no expert, was just looking at the brochures.
The Cyclone equipped 1977 TX704 was another, but they still had no brake guide braze-ons. Not particularly a Trek enthusiast, but you really can't go too wrong with a 200 buck vintage 531 Trek with likely Shimano 600 hubbed wheels.

I would, ms. merziac has one, a bit later with the mono DT and Vitus tubing, its very nice. I don't think they made GR mixtes despite my trying to make it one. This one is a proper twin tube one so I would not let it get away, I would think its Vitus or Reynolds, I think all the older Grand Jubilee's were 531.

My daughter has a Gran Jubile’ Mixte and it is a great bike . It was her first road bike . Hers came with first gen Cyclone derailleurs and Mavic wheels/ Campy Record hubs. She rode the heck out of that bike but now it sits in my shed . It is too small for me or I would set it up as an errand bike.

I recently answered a C.L. ad for a Campagnolo high flange Record hub with a flat skewer for $25 . When I arrived at the guy’s house he had an additional flat handled record skewer so I gave him another $5 , even though he didn’t ask. I asked where he got the hub (it looked like it had not been mounted before) he said he used to ride a Paramount when he was a bit younger. He had just moved to the area and was still unpacking. He told me he would like to move along his “old bikes” . Well, that got my interest, so he is going to text me pictures of his Medici and Paramount when he goes back to his old house to retrieve his bikes…..hmm

Looks like a very attractive price and they aren't in dreck condition either. I have no stand and turn the bike upside down on the garage floor with towels placed underneath the seat and bars. One day my bike stand ship will sail! Hope you get 'em.

Accidentally ended up with this one! Did not need another project! I let curiosity get the best of me. When it was still posted quite a bit later, I checked to see if it was gone. Apparently no one had inquired, they said it was mine, picked it up this a.m.

Someone should be running to get that with cash in hand.
If it's the real deal.

Doesn't have the ornate lugs he often included, but the paint is impeccable which was his hallmark.
