All good ?'s for sure, still, these are one of the few that can constitute justifying possible extraordinary measures to salvage them. This one, if actually a 68, it is at the tail end of the "good old days" I believe, we don't see too many from this period and I paid close to this for my frame and critical parts, 74mm spindle w/BB, SP, HS, 2 SP binders, Silca, spare decal set, S+H, so....

You could spend $1K just rounding up some of these critical parts, heck this one could be a parts bike assuming they are original and if you had another in your size, better shape, etc.

Mine is somewhat documented by Ken? at Cupertino to be a 60-1 for what that's worth based on serial #'s on both sides of mine.

This is one that you plan for the worst, hope for the best, take a leap and hope there is at least some water in the pool.

M,
Correct on all counts, I would have chosen a better place to inspect how easy it would be to remove the paint.. Bondo is just plain strange...but to each their own.
Best, Ben

Yeah, that was dumb. They probably know something we don't, I'll give them props for going there and bringing a serious bargaining chip into the light, albeit foolishly so.

Shame, showing at $60+ plus shipping. Seller might have increased price with more activity.

$61.43 is the listed BIN price but $28.75 is the limited time ‘offer price’ sent to people who watchlisted it. Try to watchlist it and see if you get the offer price.

Vitus 979 Frameset

Not cheap, but not IMO stupid expensive either. Ruby red and native alloy colors; 53cm top tube; includes Shimano 6207 headset (one of those requiring the special tool). English BB threading.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/255626753344

Don't know the seller (though I have bought one item from them), and I have zero commercial interests in play here. Posted here just in case someone's looking for this type of frame in this size.

This can't be legit...can it?

This is an hour's drive from me. I'm 6'4" and this would fit me nicely, although the geometry may not be to my liking.

Odd ad, indeed. Maybe they don't want to offer local pickup because they are misrepresenting this bike. I've been consistently impressed with the Terry bikes that I've seen, and my wife rides a Terry Classic from about the same era as this bike. But there are a few mis-statements in this ad from the Goodwill folks in Boise.

The claims about the frameset and wheels may be true about the very pricey custom Georgena Terry bikes that you can order today at georgenaterry.com, but this Terry Prism from the late 80's is a nice enough Tange frame built in Japan not hand built in Waterford. And I'm pretty sure that that's a red Araya sticker on the rear wheel. Fine wheel, but it's inaccurate to say that this bike features Velocity wheels hand-built in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When this bike was built, Velocity was just getting started making water bottle cages in Australia.
