This bike has a storied history... My husband and I rode it into Washington D.C. from Ashburn, VA (about a 50 mile round trip) for the 2009 presidential inauguration... in 12-degree weather. I know, crazy, but something we will never forget.
Extremely comfortable and road-worthy. Frame underwent a $1,200 factory refurbish in Nov. 2013, including replacement of the chain stays, rear dropouts, and thread-less front fork.
Both front and rear stems are extensively adjustable to accommodate different-sized riders.
As you can see from the photos, all the bike needs is some new handle bar tape… the “Lizard Skins” have molted.
The Yakima SideWinder® tandem mount is included at no extra charge ($429 retail price… if you can find one!). The mount is essential if you intend to transport the bike on a vehicle. The mount design enables a safe, one-person operation to load and unload the bike. Mount uses the Yakima SKS (Single Key System) to secure the bike while loaded. See photos for details.

Colin Laing Touring Bike, 51cm, XS - $300 (22nd & Country Club)Vintage Colin Laing touring bike. Frame and fork are made out of Reynolds 531 steel, with lugged construction. Dropouts are Campagnolo. Condition is decent considering this bike is most likely from the late '70s or early '80s. No dents, cracks, or rust. The paint has plenty of scuffs and scratches but doesn't look abused.
This bike has been completely gone through and tuned up. New cables and housing were also installed. It's a vintage touring bike, so it has six gears in the back, a triple on the front, so 18 speeds total. Shifters are mounted on the stem and are easy to reach and use. Tires are 700cx28mm, and there's room to go a little bigger. I'd say 32mm max.

Neat road bike for small to medium rider with staggered 700c / 24" rims as standard. Very responsive and light handling. Can be ridden as is but entire bike needs to be gone through. Mainly, chain, cables & sheaths. Sheaths are cracking and although brakes & shifting fine it is only a matter of time before they let go. Tires are holding air at the moment but I would not trust the tubes long terms. The rest is mainly detailing and minor adjustments. However, all the components are high quality and frame paint is good. This bike really deserves the right owner to bring it back.
