CAMPY CHORUS 8sp GRUPPO - $575 (DOWNTOWN RALEIGH)

Date: 2010-10-19, 7:02PM EDT
Reply to: sale-kukbh-2015096570@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Campagnolo Chorus 8 Speed Gruppo

Included in sale:
Campy Chorus Rear Derailer
Campy Chorus Front Derailer
Campy Chorus Brakeset
Campy Chorus Ergo Shifters/brake levers
Campy Chorus Bottom Bracket (English)
Campy Chorus Crankset (172.5)

You are looking at an incredible piece of Campy history. This first generation gruppo marks the transition from friction (and synchro) downtube shifting to an integrated brake/shift component.

The group set is in incredible condition. It has seen less than 100 miles (if that). There are NO major knicks or scratches on ANY of the individual parts, even the ergo lever hoods are in great shape. Mechanically, this gruppo is AS NEW. Shifting is tight and crisp, braking is effortless, and the crank turns butter smooth.

I also have a set of record cables, several record cassettes, campy look style pedals, and a chorus 1" threaded headset that are also for sale (separately). Oh, and a vintage 1989 50th anniversary 56cm Olmo San Remo frame/fork that I would also be willing to part with.

Please email if you'd like more high-res photos.

$300 is on the high side for a Shimano 105 bike. If you have to ask how to haggle you shouldnt be haggling. If you like it say, "I'll give you $250 cash right now." If the owner says no tell him you'll think about it and walk away.

Auction for a De Bernardi. I never heard of this Italian bike. Details:

Up for bid is this Di Bernardi 48 cm road bike. For those that don’t know, De Bernardi bikes are not off the shelf bikes. These are built to order custom bikes. While this one uses Columbus Aelle tubing (good but not the best), the pearlescent paint job and gorgeous lugs will not disappoint. Due to the frame having a Shimano 600 threaded headset, I believe that this is an older model that has been upgraded. It is equipped with:
48 cm steel frame and fork
Shimano Ultegra 6503 27 speed drivetrain (3X9)
Shimano Ultegra 6503 9 speed triple shifters
Shimano Ultegra 6503 triple clamp-on 9 speed front derailleur
Shimano Ultegra 6503 triple 9 speed rear derailleur
Shimano Ultegra brakeset
Shimano Ultegra 6503 triple crankset
Shimano Ultegra 6503 Octalink bottom brascket
Shimano 600 headset
Mavic MA2 32 spoke wheels w/ Shimano Ultegra 9 speed hubs hubs
FX Sakae quill stem
Selle San Marco Techno Dynamica saddle
and more…. This bike is in used condition but good shape. There are some spots of surface rust near the front and rear lugs on the top tube (hardly noticeable) and the right shifter seems to be a little sticky at times (some cleaning and lube might fix this). The bike needs new/tubes/tires. SOLD AS IS.

Re: Miyata 1000 in Atlanta:

A flipper bought that bike. It was originally for sale for $165. He bought it and put new tape on it and advertised it for over $700 days later. Now he's down to $500. I'm not judging, I'm just disappointed I didn't get it for $165! I think I was next in line.

Standard 700 Road Tires( very good rubber) on Alloy Wheels..Shimano 600 Derailleurs and Downtube Indexing Shifters and Sweet 600 Side/Linear-pull Shimano Hand Brakes..Bottle Cage with Gel Saddle and Gel Cover, Toe Clips..Cleaned/Tuned and Ready to Ride..$185 or B/O

Delivery Options to Newton Highlands Greenline "T" or Needham Junction Commuter Rail Stops.

Guy is a dick, insists on selling an un-worked yard sale find for too much money. Giant dent on downtube, and insists that "some broad" is going to love it and buy it. Did not point out the dent to me, and said he was being "honest" about the bike. Buyer beware. PS: Isn't willing to sell the bikes for parts either.

This one might make a nice restore, if someone wanted to bargain a bit:

Vintage, 1956 Raleigh Sports model, men's style - $100 (West Seattle)

Date: 2010-10-19, 10:16PM PDT
Reply to: sale-sswzn-2015542028@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Complete and working 1956 Raleigh Sports men's style bicycle.
Sturmey Archer internally geared 3 speed rear hub. Sturmey Archer "Dyno hub" front hub that works and generates 6 volts. Powers head light.
Brooks leather saddle.
Comes with a chrome frame pump (not shown) that fits on the down tube. Pump seals are worn out.
Actual color is dark blue. Two of the pictures show an almost royal blue color but the bike is darker than that. The picture of the seat and the front hub show a truer color of the frame.
The bike is ready to be restored.
It can be ridden now, it shifts and the brakes work but I would not recommend using it without a complete overhaul.
