"brake alone is worth more than asking price" These sub $200 quality tandems that keep popping up are super tempting just for parts, but it seems like that would be the end of the frame? Who would then pay the hundreds of dollars in parts, to build it back up, when they could just buy a complete Santana for $250? There was one, a few weeks ago, that had parts I needed for 2 incomplete bikes, I was tempted to show up with tools and leave the frame behind! I would not be able to sleep if I had, I can't bring myself to strip perfectly good bikes. I have puchased 2 bikes with the intention of using them as donors, neither got stripped. One I ended up fixing up and passing on to guy who rides it daily, Univega Sportour, the other is hanging in the garage waiting to be made back into a rider, Centurion Elite RS.
Still Available - if someone wants a smokin' deal - https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...tory_type=post - Motobecane Tandem $100 Santa Ana, CA

Ad has been up, and down, for months; I just keep forgetting to post it here. Conveniently located in roughly the geographical center of NOWHERE between Milwaukee, Madison, Rockford, Kenosha and Chicagoland. And he won't ship. Plus, tall frame --> small market. Translation - probably ready/willing to accept an "offer".

Thanks, no really y'all are the best, for the moral support and the kind offer - you gleeful enablers - I was serious, but only in that if this did fit in my car (easily), my dumb self probably would have gone and bought it. Thankfully it would have required a smidge more effort, so I posted it here and walked away quickly. I don't need a tandem, I don't have a partner to ride with, I don't have room in my garage (or house), but yeah smoking deal and I could see myself on this fine whip . . . wait do I need a tandem?

I know what you mean, i got the Santana that was too big for me and wifey thinking i'll strip it for parts. After taking it home looking at the wheels, brakes and frame, i couldn't go through with it. Ended up spending over 2 hours with a friend house taking the stuck seat post off. It is now seating in the garage waiting to be put back together. Hopefully, i get it all sorted before the year is over and put it up for just in time for Christmas. Wish me luck.

That Clubman has a crank upgrade installed. This hub looks arc-weldable. Looking on eBay for parts makes me feel like the class dunce, also finding 334544531906 there today.

Specialized Roubaix Pro $1200
Not exactly Classic or Vintage, but in case you "are you looking for one of these"
This Specialized Roubaix Pro is for sale at a motorcycle shop I visit often, belongs to the owner. He said it has less than 100 miles on it. He is willing to assist with shipping if desired. Call Allsport, Inc in Decatur, AL (256-355-9706) ask for Steve. $1200.
Mods delete or move if not allowed in C&V.

Either Elance 400D or a 330. Believe 400D came with Shimano and 330 with Suntour(?).
Either way it would be a very good price

I'm with you on the later stuff but the early stuff calls me a bit. They were made 4 hours from my house and I wanted one so bad in about 1980-85. As a dad with responsibilities it was out of the question. The 720 I now own is everything I hoped it would be. After about 1990 I don't care anymore.

For those who like to source rims on wheels
I was tempted for the Moksva rims, but Shimano 105 hubs might be useful for someone and I have more wheels than I need.
