I am tempted to grab this myself but I have a project in the pipeline and I want to devote my energy to finishing it. In 1978 this was the top of the line Univega. This one that is being sold appears to be completely intact. This was when Ben Lawee’s operation was transitioning from the Italvega bikes that were made in Italy to Japanese made frames. The font still is in the Italvega style rather than the later Univega font that was used for a long time in the 80s. This bike was almost certainly made in the Miyata factory. Top shelf tubing and good components.
The consumables are rough but it looks like it was kept indoors so there is negligible rust. This one will clean up nicely for someone that jumps on it.

This bike was gifted to Skip Keizer’s as a thank you for helping to fund the Company. TheSoviet team was banned from the 1988 Summer Olympics therefore the eight team bicycles were not used. Notice the USA And Soviet Hammer and Sickle on the top tube This is not one of the 100 CCCP Masis that were built prior . If you notice the Ergo Power shifting which came later than the 100 built prior. This is a rare find and deserves to be in a collection. Assembled at Laguna Cycles in Laguna beach California. She has been safely hanging in my garage for the last ten years or so. Notice the chain is virgin as is the whole bicycle. The tires are original and in perfect condition. All Campagnolo record. Frame and chrome are in very good condition. Very little pitting on chrome. Paint shows general wear from age/use but is in overall good condition. Very little rust throughout.
