Probably belongs in the "wacky" thread. I hope we're not here yet, price-wise. Still, it's nice to see.

Chicago Trek

Trek 850 56cm
$875

Size good for 58 - 60
1983 Trek 850, first mountain bike Trek ever made
XTR hubs and most of drivetrain
Everything is greased and ready to go for winter

^^^^^ Given how it's built, with the Brooks, the barcons and the bags, the price is perhaps only slightly wacky. What's wacky is the seller's assumption that it will "sell itself" at that price. If that's the entire text, and the best photo (are we buying a fence/arbor?), he went out of his way to post a "crappy-ad discount" ad.

There's a lot going on there, almost enough to distract from the chewed up lower on the fork. At least they're riding it hard!

Merckx + Titanium + Campanutella + Vintage = BIG BUCKS.

I paid a bit more than that in 2009 for my 97 Bianchi MegaTube Ti and it was in horrible shape, but those might be a rarer find than this. Odds are there is someone out there that wants it bad enough to pay that for it.

I don't know either. But if I was guessing, I'd say it's good stuff like Nutella.

Yes exactly. I was trying to think of clever misspelling of Campagnolo to grab attention. I thought of the classic Campagranola and suddenly Nutella popped into my head.

Good thing you chimed in. I thought merziac was referring to Bruce Gordon.

Bike is somewhat pedestrian but the writing in the ad is solid. If you can't manage to get pictures of the drive side you might as well be funny.

All those photos and not even one complete full shot of the bike. The best they could do was an angled group shot. lol
