If anyone wants this Huffy Professional (possibly made by motobecane) I can go get it for them this weekend

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/2001821810.html

I could probably ship it for you if you were super patient, but I'll tell you up front I'll be slow as hell because I'm busy.

If you're wondering about Huffy "Professional"s there is a few thread about them. They're supposedly rare, not that this fact makes them valuable But for $40 someone here I thought might be interested. PM me if you need help.

I saw one of those Madisons locked to a tree in Sacramento a few weeks ago.

is it me or are the Victory shifters mounted upside down? or left side on right and vise versa?

it appears that way but i dont think it is. to do this wouldnt you have to put the cable through the lever "backwards"? this would leave no recess for the cable end.

Women's Gitane Gran Sport Deluxe 51 cm mixte - $60 (inner richmond)

Date: 2010-11-11, 10:16AM PST
Reply to: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/2054680085.html

I am selling my Gitane Gran Sport that I bought in 2006. It has almost all of its original parts, including Mafac brakes, Suntour rear derailleur, and Simplex front derailleur. However, after moving to foggy SF after college, this bike got almost no use and ended up in the backyard where it gathered some rust damage. Needless to say, this bike is a fixer-upper and I don't have the time, money, or space to devote to it. However, it is still a great ride and is perfect for someone into working on bikes and/or are hard up for a bike. Also, you can ride it as is, but only in one gear.

Here's a rundown of things that need replacement:

-chain (currently too long)
-rear derailleur
-front derailleur
-brake cables (cracked)
-cassette

There is also cosmetic rust damage that a bit of steel wool and elbow grease can remove. The saddle and grips may need replacing too, as they are quite worn. A paint job is an option, but by no means required, since it still has most of its original decals.

I am selling for $70 firm, only because the frame is still in good condition (save for some scrapes) and it's still a great ride. Serious buyers only. Cash only. No trades or bartering. Also, LOCAL PICK UP ONLY, which means you *must* come to SF.

Thanks for reading!

Well, yesterday this was $650 and I considered recruiting the west coast C&V swat team to retrieve it, but it appears the seller is using CL as an auction. Not that it isn't worth $850.

Au contraire, it looks as though a FD braze on mount has been welded onto the frame.

Visible here and here.

I wonder it it broke off or if it originally never had one. it must have been arc welded on, doesn't look too smooth

^ pretty sure the latter, the Olmo, is from the collection of our very own Bibliobob. He has another bike or two up there as well. Anyone interested in that Olmo should contact him...and buy with confidence!

Might as well put these up too:

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bik/2056793638.html

This one is a 73/74 Rauler Frameset, Rauler being a small Italian shop that did work for Colnago.

and

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bik/2056870828.html

A 'Cherubim' frameset, from a small Japanese framebuilder with strong ties to 3Rensho. Really pretty frame, though I can't get the photo to copy over.

I've seen both bikes and they're beauties. Bob is a first class guy with a very discerning eye...I only regret that none of the bikes he's 'de-accessioning' from his collection would fit me!
