Just a quick observation from personal experience. I had one of these Park workstands for years but never found it terribly stable on my ancient (heavily patched) basement floor. I bought a $30 work stand from Aldi and use that instead. I don't think that deal is still available, but the same basic stand is available from Amazon and probably plenty of other outlets for less than a Benjamin.

I could see where the Park stands design would not work well on uneven floors and this tripod design would be more stable. I have also heard/read good things about these Adli stands. But I must say, I have this Park stand and have zero stability issues on flat ground, grass or paved. I generally bow to the wisdom and experience of this group and see a few likes on quoted post, have others had stability issues with the PRS-1?

Pardon my slight hijack: I don't own a Park stand (mine is a Japanese unit sold under several brandnames like Minoura, but long discontinued) so no opinion on stability of the PRS-1.
But I live in an "Aldi-free zone" so cannot take advantage of these limited-time-only deals unless I just happen to be visiting, say, SoCal when one is burning hot. Usually not.

I have discovered that many items Aldi's buyers find are often available to us "unlucky shoppers" from Chinese Big Boxers like Aliexpress, but caveat emptor!

This very same repair stand (with the quad-pod base) can be had for around $36 on that site, however shipping from China pushes it to well over a Benjamin! $36 seems about right from what I can tell of it's quality, but YMMV.

Read the Aliexpress ad fine print carefully: watch for bait-n-switch in both descriptions and photos.
Aliexpress management will try to "make things right" if you have a legit dispute but that can take a long time to get resolved.
I hate to say it but sometimes using Amazon is safer, I usually try to find stuff from an eBay seller, first.
Just my two cents...now back to the regular content

Even if I ignore the pedals, saddle, and a few other details, there's just something about a Pogliaghi with a kickstand that makes me sad.

I bought a second hand PRS-1 about twelve years ago. I've only used it on concrete or brick floors(fairly level). I haven't had any problems with stability, even under heavy wrenching. It's supported either end of a tandem without a hitch.

Couple of notes: it doesn't fold up very small. I have a tripod Ultimate stand(old Feedback), and it breaks down into a smaller package. I bought the tool tray for my Park stand, and it is nice to have while working on a bike.

Here's a crappy picture for reference

It looks pretty close to my size. If it wasn't 3,000 miles away I'd have taken a look by now.

I have a beige 1996 or earlier PCS-1 (Park painted their PCS-1 beige from 1980 until 1996.) As others have mentioned, it doesn't fold up small, but it is pretty stable on my smooth garage floor.
Mine does not have a vertical height adjustment (like the one in the ad appears to have). It would be nice to be able to raise the bike(s) higher.
It also doesn't accommodate larger-tubed frames well, but I just use the seat post (which I guess I should for all) for those bikes.

Yeah, I just shipped what may be the last bike I ship.

Almost $200 w $1k ins.

Was a very good deal until that, still a good deal but bikes used to ship for $60-70 so were a no brainer when a good deal at all IMO.

This one could be in that category even still, just maybe not a no brainer. :twitchy:
