Looks like a 1984 PH501, found my own for only a bit less money some ten years ago, also in the bay area.

These bikes are lighter than you might expect (due to lugless construction), similar in weight to a 1979 PXN10E despite having 103 fork tubing.

Helicomatic rear hub is this modest-price bike's biggest and perhaps only demerit!

I have seen at least two, maybe three, Cannondale (Craigslist, Offerup) ads where the seller, trying to be honest/full disclosure, pointed out the "dented" chain stay on the bike they were selling. One of them was a nearly NOS bike that said something to the effect of "perfect bike unfortunately except for the horrible dent someone put in the lower back of the frame" and it was priced accordingly.

Are there any other frame makers that do that extreme of a "dented" chainstay?

SoCaled Never really took notice Maybe Klien? Trek on their 1xxx series aluminum frames? you only really need it if the tubing is large enough to cause problems the crank arms.

I’m 41 going on 60 and just about never carry around my cell phone so wasn’t able to take a photo. The local Co op had a 21” 1987 Schwinn Prelude in Ice Pink. I didn’t ask what they wanted but I’d imagine it’s pretty Cheap. The bike still had its dealer tag hanging from the bars and the gentleman at the Co-op stated it had been donated by a woman who claimed her late husband had purchased it new but never once rode it.

They are open every Sunday, had some other Cand V bikes like a folding Peugeot and a rather nice Peugeot Mixte, I’ll have to get some pictures next time.

sheesh it sure does!
If that a Ti frame with CF fork and in apparently good condition with perhaps some Campy gear for $150?
Yow!
But all of this is TBD, anyhow here's a (single) pic assist
my guess for this "unknown size" is about a 53-54 cm

I'm not positive, but I think that's a multi-colored led light ring -- someone came onto our local co-op with something similar -- it lights up the wheel at night -- pretty cool, and not a bad idea for an urban bike.

The seller thinks it's a Bianchi, but I have no idea if that's right. The headset looks French to me, but then there are the Campagnolo dropouts. Seller can't find a serial number. Looks like a repaint, so the only sure thing is that it's a steel frame with a Reynolds sticker. But could well be worth the asking price.
Cool antique Italian bikes were made with 531. I'd pull out of somewhere the assertion that Reynolds sold to France only tubesets with seatposts less than 27mm. Would look at sample of Motobecanes to see how they do seatstays, but I thought they used 531 stickers en Francais. Primary objective here is to complain about Meta, but of course fleabay is deplorable too.
Tell people who ask where you got the bike " Oh- the Northeast Kingdom..."

interesting frame. I say "NOT a Bianchi" and probably no Motobecane but the stay caps are sort of similar to how many older/cheaper Italian frames were done...however this looks more likely to be French especially with a 26.6 seatpost (possibly metric 531 DB), the fork has a certain Gallic feel to the blade curve.
Need to confirm the BB threading however that HS looks like at least partially something FR (Stronglight?)

Yes, seller says it is a Stronglight headset, but not for the French steerer threading. Not sure about the BB threading. I could ask, but I'm trying not to think about buying this, for fear that I might actually do it.

As has been pointed out, Reynolds stickers on French bikes were usually in English, but since this is evidently a repaint anything goes. The 26.6 seatpost does seem to be a good indication that it's metric 531.
