1986 Raleigh Grand Prix - looks to be in great condition from photos, 531 tubing for main triangle - $100

Over the years there have been a number of Bike Forums threads speculating about what the "Raleigh 555SL" tubing (and variants) that was labeled as such on Raleigh USA bikes might really be, with some arguing that it was Reynolds 531 that had been relabeled for some murky reason. You'd think that the presence of the Grand Prix in the lineup would have put that hypothesis to rest, but it didn't.

It looks interesting and might be a good gateway bike for Peugeots but it looks a bit big for me. Beside google says it just over three hours so probably closer to 5 for me, I have a tendency to meander sometimes

Those of us who worked in Raleigh dealerships back then sold plenty of those Grand Prix bikes. Great-looking bike with Reynolds 531---easy sales pitch.

A bit sweaty and crusty, but good bones for a nice project.
https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bi...580550074.html

Bike mechanic owned
Freshly tuned and ride ready
Good for someone 5’2”-5’10”
1989 Schwinn Tempo
Equipped with full Shimano 105 Groupset.
2x7 Index shifters
Lightweight and durable Steel Frame
Some cosmetic damage as shown. This is a sweet bike and the old 105 has stood the test of time. Would be great for a commuter. It served me well on the trainer last winter as well.

Yeah, I never trust that one until I've talked with the owner to see if they know their stuff. Whenever I read that, I always think of this:

On a survivor like this, I would be fine rolling, filling the dent and painting with accent band or close color match and call it good.
These don't come up often and this one has a complete Campy drivetrain plus brakes in our favorite oldschool version that cold be retained or sold off for a more modern build.
Pretty ok deal if you want one of these, as I/you/we should.

That's pretty unique. And the frame looks brand new compared to the components and cables.

Here's an odd one. Looks like a rod brake, single-speed 26 x 1 3/8-wheeled English bike. Only one photo and no description. $95 in PA.
