But seriously, holy smokes, that’s a good deal. The 790 was only made for two years, ‘90 and ‘92. Lugs, chromoly, made in USA. My ‘92 790 rode like a cadillac, somewhat similar geometry to a 520, but with slightly more BB ground clearance. Perfect base for a bulletproof gravel tourer...
During these years the 520, 750, and 790 shared the same geometry (pgs 9 & 10). Trek listed the 520 in cm, and the 750/790 in inches, only providing bb drop on the 520, and bb to ground on the 750/790. The geos diverged in '94.

Right you are, cheers!

I even worked out the BB drop vs BB ground clearance dimension and they match perfectly when using a ~33mm 700c tyre.

Mondonico road bike - $500 (Staten Island)

Asking $500. Seems a bit high even with the Columbus SLX frame given what looks like rust near the front brakes.

Mondonico road bike - bicycles - by owner - bike sale (craigslist.org)

I say Odds are very high its a generic replacement fork due to the mismatched front wheel!

Replacement front wheel and fork and suspiciously steep-looking head tube angle.

Oddly enough, there was another listing for pretty much the same bike back in the fall on eBay. That bike was in Bellflower CA, approx 20 miles away

Tires now look different.

big old trek ($395 + hefty shipping fee)

Anyone want to guess the model/year? It's definitely not an 82 720; judging by the RD cable braze-ons it's an early one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304804128303

Yep, it sure looks it. I'm surprised that so many recent Viscount/Lamberts on offer still have them, these have all survived the recall and passing years, but for how much longer?
Caveat emptor.

RARE Vintage Italian Cicli Stelvio Road Racing Bike Full Shimano 600 arabesque W Sew-up tires 700C $350

Rare Cicli Stelvio (before it was acquired by Bianchi and was still an independent bike maker) road bike with full Shimano 600 Arabesque Groupset. Wheels are 700C with sew-up (tubular) tires. Rides smooth. This is a very special bike not an everyday A-B commuter. Frame size is 24” or 60.5cm. Fits taller riders 5’10 to 6’4 $350. Please ask me any questions you may have. Thank you for looking.

Head badge attached with screws too. Full 531 and looks like serial number starts with "G", so I'm going to say it's a TX700, '77 or '78.
