Don't beat me too hard. I have never seen a "quality" Ted Williams in the flesh....
This is a Sport Racer. I can't see if it has 531 sticker and/or Made in Austria sticker. Lugs do look cool. I do admire the idea of it being made of aluminum and then there's the BS pricing "$150 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...31701456338859 Ted Williams signature 10 speed by Sears $150$15,000 Listed 14 hours ago in Charlotte, NC
https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...qA&oe=641E1DAD https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...CA&oe=641CF39B I can't get a photo of the front of a Sport Racer that will load... |
she's a beaut
https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...CA&oe=641CF39B don't even need a front pic |
For the Williams above.
Driving me mental as I couldn't find a photo "head on" of the head tube. The photos I've seen of this model show really cool looking lugs. Not sure if these were the 531 frame, Campagnolo equipped bikes I recall seeing in old ads. Curiously, the old ads I saw look very similar to this one. Clearly the seatpost has been replaced - looks Sugino or Leprade not campy. The oddity to me is that crankset. Original ads show what looks like the same cranks. Cranks should have been campy I believe but was campy still making cottered cranks in the '60's??? |

Could be, but I can't see the screw that would hold it in place....Glued or pressure/pin fit?
Also just happens that the sliver-gray plastic (only color I ever saw for these guides) is fairly close in appearance to the aluminum BB shell of Vitus 979s. I had a spare guide floating around in my spare parts bin for awhile, if it's still there I'll snap a pic and post it. |

I've purchased a bike from this seller before, no complaints. Nice guy, enjoyed chatting bikes and motorcycles with him.

D'oh, I just snapped the Vitus guide on a bike I'm working on. If anyone has a spare, I'm obliged.

@'02 nrs, all you need is the website and the file name, like this:

I've thought about how I could possibly purchase this bike at this point in my life (grad student, trying to keep expenses down, living in small apartment w/ girlfriend), and I just can't. And it's killing me.
Raleigh SBDU 753. Can't seem to find the catalog in full, but here's a low quality picture: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...3237353&type=3 edit: Found it. Looks like a custom frame request? Bottom right of the image Hopefully someone here gets it and takes it out for a nice July 4th ride. Interestingly it looks like it comes with 28c tires with potentially room for fenders? https://slo.craigslist.org/bik/d/san...598146991.html https://images.craigslist.org/00101_...2_1200x900.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00y0y_...2_1200x900.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00K0K_...2_1200x900.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00G0G_...I_1200x900.jpg |
