Wanted one of these as a kid with my paper route money. They were a bit out of my budget, so I got the Sears Spyder. Both were 24” and 5 speed. The Spyder 24” was really fast compared to the 20” Stingrays of the day. Fast was very useful for getting the paper route done. The 24” size never really caught on, but it was very practical.

Was rummaging around in the brake caliper bucket at the local co-op a few days ago and came across an Altenburger Synchron caliper. I didn't dig deeper to see if its mate was in there somewhere, but if you are looking for one or two of these, I can certainly go back and take a look.

HP-7410 Bearing Sets, Semi-Reasonable

Found this on eBay. Best price I've seen for these for at least the last year or two.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/325519493060

Vendor is in Taiwan, so delivery will take a while. Still, it's about 2/3 the price of most I've seen recently - <$46 shipped (to my location), any sales and customs taxes excluded.

Don't know anyone in Taiwan, so obviously I have no commercial ties to the vendor. Posted for community info.

It looks clean and original. If you like the component choices and don't plan on swapping anything out, it seems like a good price. I mean, you could find things that are cheaper, but (urban) California bikes are a little more expensive than other locations.

^ "gears" = shifters

And I agree. Where else do the shifters go? They go on the down tube where they belong.

seller says: "THE BOTTOM BRACKET is English right hand thread on both sides." which is either wrong or this apparently FR frame has been bastard-re-tapped, but has a replacement Tange fork, another oddity is the Campy 1010A DOs have Simplex (or is it Huret? SOMEthing French) style adjusters with the plastic slugs, weird...so...interested to hear what others think the marque might be.

Bianchi - $450 - Burbank, CA

Don't know fair price on this, chrome lugs look rough. I have bought from this seller before (great score) he is not a super bike expert, but reasonable and honest human. Will likely answer questions and provide additional pics if asked. Often he doesn't know exact pricing and throws out a number, usually open to offers.
