Back then it was one of the few seat posts to offer 30mm of setback, which when Hinault and Genzling told us we needed our saddles further back become quite useful in remedying frames of the day with 74-degree seat angles…
In this case it was simply a counterculture solution to the limited rearward adjustment offered by Selle Anatomica saddle rails.

As to the other part, Reagan was THE MAN! I was involved with setting up all the security command posts in DC when he died. The largest number of foreign dignitaries ever came in to honor the man.
I was going to text the seller about the date but was afraid I might slip up and also arrange to go see the bike, LOL!

Sure wish I could see facebook marketplace images at original size.
The listing doesn't say frame size, but it looks too big for me. It says 26in wheels, but people so often put the wrong wheel size.

Just got home from BFF Bikes' garage sale. I didn't buy anything, but saw a couple things which might be of interest to someone here, a smallish Fuso (Dave Moulton) for $800 and a NOS Sugino triple (171mm crank arms $240 I think). If either seems interesting to you, either get on over there (2056 N Damen in Chicago) or give the shop a call.
