Vintage Colnago w/Campagnolo Nuovo Record Urban Commuter Trainer Road - $1500 (S.D.)

Date: 2010-12-16, 10:41AM PST
Reply to: see below

Vintage 58cm Colnago frame and fork, all original paint and decals. This is a rarer frame with Campagnolo dropouts with eyelets for fenders/racks. Bike is equipped with a full early 1970's Campagnolo Nuovo Record group. Wheels have been recently built with DT Swiss touring/tandem rims and are a very stout wheelset (great for Socal's rough cement work). The bike is in very good used condition. I have purposely left the frame in original condition (there are scratches in the paint and decals); and the components are good useable equipment (they too have their blemishes). This is not a show bike; it is meant to be ridden.

Please note: pedals shown in picture are not the Nuovo Record road pedals which are included in the sale.

That Cannondale's probably an '89 or '90 SR800- looks like the correct Modolo Death Stem on there. Shimano 600 Tricolor, Wolber rims, cantilever stays. Could be a respray since the decals do not look original, but that could just be lense effect. For $200 that's would be considered deal around here, but hard to judge condition with those lousy pics. Add $100 to clean it up and install new wearables on it and it would be a pretty decent ride.

A "training bike"? I've seen a (very) few other top end Italian bikes w/eyelets, and the Gazelle Champion Mondial "A-Frame" had eyelets and was commonly used as a training bike by Gazelle- and/or Raleigh-sponsored pros.

The guy's stuff (with a couple of exceptions) looks like a bunch of $125-$300 bikes left at a college dorm bike rack at the end of the semester

This strikes me as a good deal...

I'm sure it needs some work, but a mid-60's Bianchi Specialissima with full Campy Record? He's also willing to take offers because he doesn't know if it has any collector's value

-Collin-

BIANCHI - $500 (MONTEREY)

1965 specialissimo: Campagnolo Record: I got this bike when I was 12 in 1967 from my dad who never rode it. I never ride it and my kids could care less. I don't know if it has any collector value so I'll take offers if anyone is interested.

sell cheapish. I have no interest in buying and flipping but will facilitate SERIOUS inquiries, only.

I'm sure he's received some offers by now. If this is at least a 58cm (looks to be more like a 56cm to me) and someone is willing to facilitate, I'd be more than happy to compensate you for your time.

I wish this was a bit taller but, if it is the same bike we saw here a few weeks ago (remember it was upsidedown in the pics) I don't think it was really SL.

I am in the process of cleaning out my basement and have a bunch of older bicycles. One is a Schwinn with a SA 3 speed and a big basket on the front and the other is a single speed with a coaster brake. The seats are in good condition and the tires hold air and are also in good condition. These are comfortable riding bicycles for cruising around town. Asking $20 each OBO. I also have some other older bicycles which need work which I will throw in if you come over and buy a bike. If interested call Tom at 203-xxx-xxxx.

These great bicycles were used less then a dozen times and have been hanging in garage for years. I have researched these as being very well made bikes. All stock Shimano parts. I am not sure of size of the actual bike but do know one is a little smaller then the other. Please make a reasonable offer to my email. Thank You. Reside in San Diego and travel to Temecula. Possible to meet up north depending on offer. Great bikes. Thanks

It looks like I let it expire before I could email him for you! I guess I will keep an eye out if he re-posts it. It's somewhat local to me (~1 hour each way), so I could help you out. I think I may have let it slip though

No worries. Looks too small for me anyway. If someone picked it up, they got a great deal!

BTW, just how soon do SF CL listings expire? I thought the listing was current when you posted it here.
