Agreed, this one is a serious project that presents the opportunity to get it right and know its right. The offer up ones may or may not be right despite being redone. Careful in person scrutiny would be the only way to do this.
This one could go straight to Jack at Franklin frame and be made whole for far less than $1100, probably closer to half that, even if not you could be in this and know for a fact it is good, right and yours, mine, etc.

The cult is real. I'd have suggested, if you wanted a 3rensho to look at a zunow as a bit under the radar. this seems to be 10+ year old advice- Zunow are now also 2k+ which means repair and paint is 1500, frame is 500... you are in the ballpark and have fresh paint. Now, this only applies to 3rensho. Zunow paint is gonna cost you a lot more. .

Understood I definitely agree these deserve special attention now but I still feel like $520 is on the high side. I have seen two fully refurbished frames on Offer Up in the 6 - $800 range in the last 6 months. I currently own 3 and looking for #4 in the Pista version. I knew Yoshi when I lived and raced in Japan and he had agreed to build me a bike when I was there but I was in Osaka and his shop was outside of Tokyo. A very expensive ride on the Shinkansen or a flight which as a starving bike racer I couldnt afford then sadly. Yes I have huge regrets now that I didnt somehow make it work but living there was a struggle for me at that time. Anyway if someone from the Forum buys it at least they will have a better idea of the repair costs before the purchase.
unfortunately, this one isn't in the greatest condition either.
