I think this is just a classic example of many people who place ads who are just bad at life. When I saw this post I got curious so I sent an inquiry through craigslist, "do you have a pic of the actual bike?" This was the response:

"Sorry about the picture The bike is completely disassembled for restoration.
The plan was to have the bike restored in relatively short order.
Unfortunately, obtaining a few replacement parts may take longer than anticipated.

If you want, I can photo the frame( on the bike stand), but it will look somewhat rough.
The paint is in pretty decent condition, as are the chrome fenders, wheels and handlebars and , and virtually all

The fact that you got a reply is impressive.
I can't tell you how many ads I've responded to and got nothing back but an uptick in text message spam.

Very limited circulation on that one. a collector. 50 is a steal. If you're near and it's your size...
Looks to be all there too...

Not quite as tall as that Trek, but here’s a tall ‘72 Cinelli at a decent price ($1750). Seller is the Marin Museum of Bicycling.

eBay user retroryder56 has a bunch of stuff for sale. I first noticed a couple kinda crusty Follis frames on a nightly eBay email. The seller has a bunch of stuff, much of it NOS (check out all the derailleurs, many of which I'd never heard of before. Here's one unusual frame, advertised as an Olmo, labelled "Desiree":

https://www.ebay.com/itm/145208671511

Here's a cool derailleur (never heard of a Jahaga before, Disraeli Gears calls it Ihaga):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/145177217759

How about a Sartel (another name new to me, not present in Disraeli Gears)?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/145177214365

There's much more mundane stuff as well, dual pivot brakes, SR Laprade seatpost, Brooks and Ideale saddles, etc. The whole kit-n-kaboodle can be browsed here:

Been watching this one and have posted it here a couple times. Been for sale on BikeList for awhile. Probably would have sold already if the museum offered shipping. They probably ain't got time time to deal with that. It's my size and I'm coveting for sure. No more bike room, though.

It's probably not helping their cause that they have it listed as "Tortellini"

Probably the spell checker switched it

I got a decent Bianchi for $40 a few years ago because the listing said "Nice Banshee bike for sale" and the seller didn't notice

There's a "Branching Milano" that's been re-posted for at least a year on the Madison CL, the poster spells it right in the body of the listing, but hasn't bothered to fix the title, over at least 4-5 re-posts.

This is a real mystery to me. They are calling it a Trek 11, which I'm pretty certain never existed, but I can't figure out exactly what it was either. Grip shifters + cable stops on the down tube. Double crank with a rack. Looks like a Multitrack.

$150

I think it's a Trek 1100 road bike in 19" size. Looks like the "00" is missing from the 1100 on the seat tube.
