I went and looked at this bike this morning. Frame is decent and light but i couldn't get excited over it. No lugs, mismatched parts. Seller is a nice guy though. The front shock is shot. I think i rather have a lugged Stumpjumper.

Triumph 1985 57cm 22.5in

Features Reynolds 531 steel frame and fork with Gipiemme drop-outs

I bought the frame and fork from consignment and built it out from there. Shimano 600 tri color crank and derailleurs. Shimano 105 7spd index downtube shifters. Shimano 600 brake levers (new hoods) and 5000 brake calipers. New Charge saddle. All new cables and housing. New bottom bracket. Time period appropriate quill stem, handlebars, and seatpost.New EVO wheelset and 28mm tires.

I have tested this bike the last months with rides around town pulling my kiddo in a chariot, riding up and down the canyons (going 40!), and running errands. Itís a lovely ride. Time to sell so I can move onto the next build. This Triumph is my 13th rebuild and once I sell then allows me to move onto my next. Please feel free to ask any questions.

For reference: 700c wheels, 1' threadless steerer/ head tube, 27.2 seat post, 28.6 clamp-on front derailleur, English threaded bottom bracket, rim brakes. 100x9qr front 126x9qr rear axle widths, mechanical group compatible.

I'm asking $1,000 but ask questions, come see/ride it, make an offer.

Thanks!
I've got the 23.5 version of that frameset and it's terrific but that price is crazy.

Cuevas Bike

A Cuevas listed on Craigslist. The seller is claiming this was Francisco Cuevas's last frame before retiring. While that may or may not be true, Cuevas has a heck of a good reputation around New York. These are excellent frames. For the $500 listed, is a good deal, in my opinion.

Well a front a shock could be rebuilt or replaced, the geometry is more agressive than on the lugged stumpjumper and the tubing lighter. Then the other thing to do is a full drivetrain and wheel upgrade at least this is what I would do.

Try the same link, but cut out everything after html - there's a bunch of stuff there that's screwing up the link.

I sent an email and it seemed to have gone though. No message or bounce back. I explained that a colleague is trying to get through to them. I don't want to run the price up on you, just in case.

The frame does not have the tight Criterium geometry that was so popular in the '80's. It is just a tad longer in the rear. Similar to the Serotta Club Special that I had a long time ago. A great all around bike geometry that handled great but you could ride all day without feeling beat up.

It is a shame that the seller of the Cuevas didn't pump up the tires before moving the bike around and taking pictures. They also got a shot of the non-drive side. But that is how Craigslist listings go.

By the way, I mentioned to my wife that there was a Cuevas bike on Craigslist for $500, just to dip my toe in the water. She replied that that is a lot of money for a bike. "Ah, yes but it is a Cuevas!" then, "Well it's a good deal on a beautiful bike by an esteemed builder, but it wouldn't be for me." <Sad emoji>

Thank you for the heads up on that! Like you I prefer the softer ride of the longer geometry so this bike would be ideal for me in the perfect size. Fingers crossed I hear back soon!

Seller's pictures. Ad copy says "no pedals", but maybe something else is going on there, just a spindle on one side (can't see NDS to tell if it is the same)?

Those are actually a pedal brand called Ultralight Sports - the worlds lightest pedals. They are very rare!

1987 Team Miyata Road Bike 56cm - $525 (San Diego)
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...659302409.html

1987 Miyata Team Road Bike, 56cm. This vintage bike is in good condition and has been completely inspected and rebuilt to run perfectly. This was Miyata's top of the line racing bike and is a very highly regarded bike from this period built with Miyatas own and legendary tripple butted, splined, chromoly tubing. I've had the bike for about 15 years and it is one of the best frames I've ridden but it's a little small so it's time to pass it along to someone else. It rides perfectly but the frame does have several paint and decals scratches. It would likely fit someone 5'8 to 5'11

Features include:
Shimano 600 tri color 2x7 indexed shifting
Shimano 600 tri color cranks, bb, headset, hubs and brakes (all bearings and races in excellent condition)
New Panaracer Pacela 700c x 28 tires
Ofmega Pedals
Gellismo fly leather saddle with titanium rails

It is a legendary bike but over decades it happens that the aluminium bonded lungs can unglue themselves which could lead to accidents due to the frame fatigue.

small 1988 Centurion Ironman Expert $120. Hopefully the super high seatpost and stem haven't caused any damage. Looks like parts are all or mostly original.
