Nice early Mongoose.

Vintage 1984 Mongoose All Terrain mountain bike - $350 (concord / pleasant hill / martinez)

CL CA Mongoose
Vintage collector's bike. This was hardly used after being bought back in 1984 at Hank and Frank’s in Lafayette. It has been overhauled and is in perfect original condition. All equipment is original except it needed new tires, brake pads, and some new shifter cables/housing. Saddle is not in great condition, but it is the original one that came with the bike. The frame size is an L/XL (21” center to center, with a 23” top tube). Just the Pro Class rims are being listed for $300 on eBay, and the original rim strips (which this has in great condition) are listed for $60.
  • Mongoose All Terrain chrome cromoly steel frame (serial number M4-I1989) and biplane fork
  • 1 1/8” threaded headset
  • MTS 100 quill stem
  • MTB 100 handlebar
  • SR SUNTOUR XC friction shifters
  • SR SUNTOUR Alpine Gear Tech front derailleur
  • Maeda (SR SUNTOUR) rear derailleur
  • Takagi 170 mm crankset with Takagi XT chainrings (28-38-48)
  • SR SUNTOUR adjustable bottom bracket
  • Dia Compe 980 cantilever brakes (new pads) and Dia Compe levers
  • SR SUNTOUR hubs laced to Pro Class rims (with drilled holes)
  • CST Swiss Army tires (26 x 1.95)
  • SR SUNTOUR Pro 5 speed freewheel (14-28)
  • SR SUNTOUR Laprade seatpost
  • Viscount saddle
  • HKK chain

Vintage 3Rensho Super Record Ax (SRA) road bike - $2,500 (Madison)

CL WI 3Rensho

This is a rare 3Rensho Super Record Ax. I am the original owner and purchased it from Yellow Jersey (the US importer) in Madison, WI, back on 30 Oct1982.

Yoshi Konno, the 3Rencho frame builder and also the man behind Cyclone LTD, built many Keirin racerís winning frames over the years. His history as a Keirin frame-maker was built on the work of Cherubim, Yamaguchi, Makino, and others. Today the 3Rensho name remains one of the most sought-after Keirin bicycles.

see: https://theradavist.com/yoshi-konno-article/
also, browse the Facebook '3Rensho Owners Assoc.' Group and feel free to ask questions about 3Rencho bikes.

The frame is Ishiwata Cr Mo double butted tubing (strong, stiff and lightweight). The components are the very unique aerodynamic Shimano Dura-Ace AX series. It even comes with the original Shimano AX water bottle.

The front wheel is the original aero Shimano and the rear has been replaced with an aero Campagnolo wheel. I'm also including a couple of other spare Campagnolo wheels in this sale.

The pedals have been replaced with Look carbon click-in pedals. I am also including the original Shimano Dura-Ace AX pedals.

The frame is not cosmetically perfect because there is some surface rust in a few places. This could be cleaned up pretty easily. However, I am assuming the new owner might strip it down and have a new paint job. I recommend contacting Andrew Muzi at Yellow Jersey in Arlington, WI (a Google search will get you to his website). He can make arrangements for the new paint/finishing and can get authentic 3Rencho decals.

The frame size is 59cm, measured from center to top.

I am guessing Merziac would wantto have this in his collection

I had a feeling this is how this would go.
From ad:
"I tried doing this last year, but all the buyers ended up flaking after weeks of planning etc. Now is the time for some of you who originally inquired about the lot." - I read that as a Red flag this guy was probably hard to deal with.
"Everything is in bike boxes and ready to be shipped. Each frame is wrapped in pipe insulators and taped etc." - This also seemed like an issue, how would you "see" them if the were fully packed
He seems to have changed the ad, the reference to "New Boxes" is gone, maybe because the pictures clearly show "used boxes"

Agreed! I should have read the ad more thoroughly before my reply to Rob. I did NOT realize the bikes are in LA I thought he and the bikes were Oceanside. I am definitely not interested in making the 4-5 hour drive RT from here to look at some wankers bike boxes in a storage closet. Sorry I have to rescind my offer Rob.

Don't see these come up for sale too often. Pretty well appointed too.

Rivendell Atlantis 59cm Phil Brooks XTR KING - $2,800 (Indianapolis)

CL IN Rivendell
It's time for this beautiful bike to find it's next forever home. I built this Atlantis in February of 2020. It has an excellent mix of high end parts and is fully serviced, ready to ride. While most parts are like new, showing little signs of use, the Brooks C19 saddle and the MKS Lambda pedals are truly brand new with no miles. This bike rides as incredible as it looks, you won't be disappointed. I'll list the parts below. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks, 3one7 six7one-five7eight8.

Frameset: Rivendell Atlantis 59cm

Wheelset: Phil hubs, spokes and skewers with matching Velocity Atlus polished rims.

Tires: Panaracer Gravel Kings 700x50

Brakes: Paul's brake levers and cantilever.

Crank: Sugino touring triple.

Bottom Bracket: Phil

Headset: Chris King in Rootbeer brown.

Handlebars: Nitto one piece bar and stem. Roscoe style.

Saddle: C19 Carved

Seatpost: Shimano Deore DX

Fenders: Woodworks full wrap and dished with inlayed contrasting checkers as a Indy 500 touch.

Pedals: MKS Lambda pedals

Bell: Incredibell

Rear Derailleur: Shimano XTR reverse pull.

Front Derailleur: Shimano STX

Shifters: Shimano 8/9 spd Dura Ace Bar End Shifters.

Kickstand: Pletscher Twin Leg Alloy

Update:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...66697596277905

This is a Chas (Charles) Roberts located in Bangor, Maine. Listed as Raleigh. Ad updated to show its a 24 inch frame (I asked seller to measure CTC.) Also she added more photos

I was driving in NE over past week and got to Stowe Vermont. Wife was not happy with the idea of a 5hr drive down backroads to see a bike. We swung south and ended up only as far north as Portland.

Levers and brakes appear to be Superbe. The $300 price is a guess and they will take an offer as selling it after a family member died.

And yes, I am already regretting not leaving the wife in Portland and driving to Bangor!

I made an offer on this above the asking price and even tho the seller says he is a "bike mechanic" he refused to ship it. Will only sell locally and said he lives in the boonies 65 miles away from the nearest town. I expect this listing will stay up for quite some time.
