Vintage Follis Road Race Frame - $50 (hayward / castro valley)

Date: 2011-02-07, 6:56AM PST
Reply to: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik/2201334017.html

For sale is an ultra-rare French made Follis Road Race Frame (circa 1970's). It is a discontinued project and would make a fantastic fixie or continue its vintage restoration. It is equipped with Simplex front/rear derailleurs and downtube shifters. Shimano alloy rim, Shimano DA quick release hub and a 6-speed cassette. I will throw in a front steel wheel (non-quick release) and an aluminum road handlebar. Take it now for $50. #805-259-172.
Dimensions: Seat Tube = 24 1/4" Top Tube = 22" Downtube = 24"

I hope is isn't. while I don't think is a violation of the rules, it is certainly in bad taste to pimp your own CL listing here.

That's certainly not my bike. I have a subscription to The Marketplace. It's too small for me to consider buying it . I also know better than to include things in a purchase and not picture them (see: wheelset).

Yes if there is no damage (and there doesn't seem to be any). Cleaned and regreased already. Just put it together.

Good condition mechanically. Has tubular tires rather than original "sew-ups."

Knows too much about tires and yet put too little information... Looks fishy...

How can something be fishy if there is nothing, at least at this point, to lose?

I figure the innocent and likely explanation is that it is the only thing he remembers about the bike after nearly 40 years.

Hmm, wonder if this is a Sumitomo CP Titanium or later Sandvik alloy titanium frame.

Titanium Fuji track frame (early 90's vintage)
$650 Buy It Now

Up for sale, I've got a really rare titanium track frame made for Fuji. From the decals and research I've done, it is early 90's vintage, but
any Fuji experts please speak up.

Measurements:
Top tube: 54.5cm center-center
Seat tube: 53.5cm center-center
57cm center-top

The geometry is tight, traditional track geometry.

The steel fork is not original to the frame (these were sold as frames only), but was custom made by a local builder in Seattle. It is 1" threadless, and had an Aheadset 1" headset with it.
There isn't a ton of room for spacers on the fork, but enough for a stem and a couple 1/8" spacers.

Neither the frame or fork are drilled for brakes

It looks brand new, I really can't find a flaw on this thing. It has been built up and ridden (only on the track), but never crashed.

BB threads are in great shape. That's all I can think of, but please ask any questions before bidding, I'll be happy to answer.

Thanks for looking.

That's a steal considering the price of track frames nowadays.

I don't know much about c&v, but I just saw this on my local craigslist. Should I grab it? For $30 it almost seems foolish not to right?

I came across this on eBay this morning, for those into the earlier Shimano 600 group with all the fancy designs: https://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-600-EX-A...item35afdd1d65
I haven't seen many complete sets like this in a long time.
