Vintage 1987 Panasonic DX4000 Steel Frame & Fork 56 cm

1987 Panasonic DX-4000 Series steel road bike frame and fork. This is in good shape for its age; as far as i can tell any rust is small areas and surface, not structural. No visible rust inside the tubes or BB. Check out the photos...I have many more detailed closeup photos and I can send you more detailed photos directly if you like.
Frame has the original metallic-blue-to-white-fade paint, though no Panasonic decals, except for "Custom Painted" script very small on the top tube, and "P" on the headtube. There are the usual small scratches and scuffs on a 24-year-old frame, and some white touch-up paint here and there (mostly near lugs) done by a previous owner. There is one tiny dent in the top tube, very small (1/8" wide or so, very shallow.) That was the only dent I could find.
Lugged steel tubing is Tange Champion #2 CroMo (decals intact), and I rode this bike on a few multi-day tours so I can say it's a very plush, comfortable ride but very responsive. Chromed "Panasonic" stamped dropout ends with intact adjustment screws and chromed fork ends; I think the entire fork is chromed under the paint. Downtube shifter bosses, rear brake and chainstay bridges. Size: I measured the seat tube at 55.5-56 cm center of BB- top of seat tube, 54.5 cm C-C top tube, 13.5 cm headtube (1" diameter) and a 62cm C-C downtube. 68mm BB shell. 172mm fork steerer tube, top 35mm threaded. It has 126mm rear dropout spacing, and was originally set up for 6-7 speed...it can easily be spread out a few more mm for a modern drivetrain. Includes a Sugino seatpost binder bolt but no other hardware or components. Sold as-is, no returns please. Shipping is to the LOWER 48 US STATES only. No international bidding without emailing me first. AK and Hawaii please email also.
*EDIT: Here's a page i found from the old Panasonic catalog (thanks to the guy who made this picasa album and posted it) showing this bike as originally built up and the frame characteristics:
https://picasaweb.google.com/scarsgo/...86407317270418*

Sold for $81

it does belong to someone here, I am suprised he did not adjust the seat, seatpost, stem and bars better while cleaning it.

If I had the money right now, I'd be all over this. I have an intuition that the seller is a high-****** tho. It's in my hood, so I could facilitate.

Same here. I believe I know the seller but have nothing to offer him Will not be a brilliant deal but you never know. I hate Uncle Sam so much right now... for taking my bike allowance money.

Here's one that someone gave me a heads up about. Talked to seller. He has a lot of nice stuff, for which he wants top dollar. Paramounts, Mexico, etc.

It's a Nottingham Raleigh 531, basically new.
