I'm experiencing extreme lust over this beautiful '74 De Rosa. Wish I weren't tapped out or I'd put in a serious bid on it.

Cannondale R400 - $99 (Jersey City NJ)

Just in time for spring. Up for sale is a Cannondale R400 road bike. This is a great commuter or a nice all-around bike. It's super light and it's a Cannondale. It could easily be converted to a single speed or fixed-gear with ease. I spent about 140.00 making minor updates last season (tires, tubes, seat etc...). It does need a good tune up for sure. I took it for a spin today and it ran like a champ. I'm getting a mountain bike to ride with my son so I no longer need this bike. I think the size is a medium but am not 100% sure as I inherited the bike and never looked into it. I'm 5'8" and can straddle the bike with ease but there isn't much room for error.

Serious only and you must pick it up. I'm located in the Paulus Hook section of Jersey City (right across from Wall Street).

You can contact me via the anonymous email or call me at 212 xxx xxxx. Thanks.

Japanese Nishiki Mens Olympic Road Bike Bicycle - $80 (Kips Bay, NY)

Dusty – been in storage for many years. Needs a little TLC and new tires to get it going. As far as I can tell, all parts are original. Cranks are aluminum. Would make for a great single-speed or fixie conversion bike because of the semi-horizontal dropouts. Made in Japan.

Cash payment and pick-up only.

Nice mix of goodies!

Centurion Pro Tour 58cm

Centurion Pro Tour Road Bike: Brooks, Nitto, Dura Ace, etc - $450 (St. Paul)
Date: 2011-03-13, 3:35PM CDT
Reply to: sale-xaf4j-2263438704@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Centurion Pro Tour 58 st x 56 tt (c to c).
Japanese made double-butted lugged steel frame. Fully chromed under the paint (lugs are chrome too). Clearance for 32mm tires without fenders and 28-30mm with.
This is a unique Japanese touring bike from 1978. Gary Fisher reviewed it for Bicycling 30 years ago: https://www.flickr.com/photos/1789069...th/2176241540/

Drivetrain is a mix of vintage Shimano 600 and modern stuff:
Sugino Alpina compact crank with a variety of big rings (46, 48, and 50 included) and 34 small.
Shimano sealed BB
Dura Ace 8/9/10 speed/Open Pro wheels (these are the 9-speed generation DA hubs--small barrels)
8 speed Sram cassette and chain (12-30), both under 500 miles.
Early 80s Shimano 600 rear derailleur (NOS, installed last August)
Suntour XC Pro front derailleur
Shimano 600 friction shifters

Nitto Noodle handlebars (46 cm)
Dura Ace stem by Nitto (a beautiful piece--no exposed bolts other than the top cap bolt)
Tektro brake levers (Campy-style)
Stainless steel Giles Berthoud fenders
28mm Panaracer Pasela Tour Guard tires (< 500 miles)
Fizik tape Shimano SPDs
Basic Japanese alloy seatpost
Brooks Team Pro
Velo-Orange bottle cage
Sigma computer

The brakes are a unique feature of this bike. They're cold-forged Dia Compe centerpulls mounted on braze ons (like cantis). They're superb brakes--much better than long-reach dual pivots with excellent clearance and no fender crowding.

I hate to see this bike go, but I need to thin the heard.

Somebody needs to win this before I give in to temptation. So far, it's a great deal. We'll see what happens in the vital closing minutes though.

57cm Miyata 1000 touring bike - Full rack and fender mounts! - $600 (Denver)

The Miyata 1000 is a top-of-the-line touring bicycle designed to handle the challenge of riding around the entire planet, if you've got the legs. In fact, none other than Sheldon Brown called it "the finest off-the-peg touring bike available at the time." This example from 1993 has seen a few miles and has a few dings in the paint to prove it, but for a dedicated rider this bike is just getting started. The frame is stout enough to carry you down the road or across the Mongolian steppe and is outfitted with a full complement of braze-ons for front and rear racks, fenders, and three water bottle cages. The drivetrain is 3x7 Shimano Deore DX, the oft-imitated but never-equaled standard for road touring and outfitted with indexed bar-end shifters for comfort and ease of shifting. The 36-spoke wheelset is built around Deore DX hubs for unparalleled reliability across thousands of miles.

In addition to everything mentioned above, this bike also features:

* Awesome purple color scheme including purple handlebar tape, purple anodized pedals, and a purple water-bottle cage!
* A totally sweet bell on the stem for your ringing pleasure!
* A blackburn rear rack and fender to haul your crap and keep your butt dry in the rain!
* Speaking of your butt: it will thank you after you start pulling 200 mile days on account of the shock-absorbing seatpost, which will take the sting out of some of the roads in whatever corner of the world you ride this bike to.
* Check out many more pictures of the bike in this album!

Bottom Line: If you're thinking of taking a bike tour this summer but you don't feel like spending the $1100 on a new Long Haul Trucker, do yourself a favor: Come take this bike for a test-ride and fall in love. You can use the money you save to buy a camp stove that weighs less than a coffee mug, or something. This bike definitely has some dings in the paint and you might want to replace the tires before any super-long rides, but she can definitely take you anywhere you want to go. $600 or best offer.
