Wonder if this one will slip through the cracks since it isn't Portland or Eugene, instead the bicycling backwater of Salem..

This showed up on Minneapolis craigslist. It looks like a Dawn Tourist from the rod brakes. The owner claims it is a 1949 model, pretty neat stuff even if the price is a bit high. Looks like it has the full chaincase, rear rack and dynohub which you don't see on these too much anymore...

Thanks for the call. PMed you back.

Those bikes aren't undervalued there, they're just inflated here. I saw a worse condition Bianchi Premio with Suntour Blaze components and a crappy written ad go for $230 within two hours of listing. Anything with 105 has an asking price of at least $350, so I think that Sirrus is half-priced. It may be the paint pattern that limits the market a little on that though. There's also a guy close to me selling similar Cannondales for $550+. The Trek is the only one that's about the same over here, and even that's still $100 under market value. Sucks buying in DC, but it's probably pretty good selling. I'll have to try sometime.

Saw this on LA fixed. It's time to win the lotto since it's my size.
https://www.lafixed.com/discussion/3/...uff/#Item_4868

It's a sad day for me. I need knee surgery and this bike must go.

Eddy Merckx track. It's a 58 c-c seat tube and a 57 c-c top tube. Frame is in perfect shape. Not a scratch, dent or anything. I babied it and sadly hardly ever rode it. Needs to seen in person to really appreciate.

Full Campagnolo.
Headset
Bottom bracket
Hand polished Aero seatpost
32H hand polished sheriff star hubs
Pedals
Toeclips
Straps
The following items were bought NOS and now have less then 20 miles on them.
167.5 pista cranks
49T chainring
Chainring bolts
Crankarm dustcaps
Omega 19 rims 32H
Seatpost binder bolt
Non Campagnolo items.
Hand polished Cinelli stem
Cinelli Pista bars
Suede sewn on bar wrap
Eddy Merckx bar plugs
Suede Selle San Marco concor supercorsa saddle (not shown in pics)
18T Phil cog
HKK blue chain
Gran Comp tires

LAF price $3000. I'll even throw in a Catlike whisper plus helmet with champion colors in a sz M. If you know your bikes you know I paid ALOT more to build it.
I will get some more detailed pics up soon.
Not looking to part out unless I get a good offer for the frame first.
Will possibly trade for a motorcycle. I don't need another bike because I have a beater so please don't ask.

If interested please email = whutwhut43@yahoo.com

There's also a guy close to me selling similar Cannondales for $550+
That's probably me, but the 'Dale in Philly can't hold a candle to any of my restored bikes. Start by buying a decent project bike like that for $300, then add $100+ for consumable parts and more than that for a 1st class powder coat job and decals, and...well you get my point.

Agreed, though for the DC market those prices are reasonable, considering that the seller took a little time to clean 'em up. Down here they would probably still have dust and grime on them. And cooties.

Is this you? https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...294722426.html

I agree your prices are fair for the DC area. I also don't think the other seller's bikes were "project" bikes. They've got paint scratches here and there, but they're in very good condition too. He could take everything apart and clean them, but they won't really show up in the pictures and probably won't be able to get him more.

Vintage Klein road bike - $450 (Brighton)

Date: 2011-03-29, 9:46PM EDT
Reply to: sale-hsgws-2294377810@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I have a 7 speed 1989 Klein Quantum Aluminum road bike for sale. This bike is in really nice shape and is a good, solid, fast bicycle.

I am the second owner and bought the bike in 2005. This bike has downtube shifters, steel fork, Dura Ace downtube shifters, Mavic Open Pro wheels, Michellin road tires, carbon fiber drop bars, Shimano 600 cranks, brakes, levers, pedals, Shimano Dura Ace Derailleur, Selle italia seat.

The bike has no structural or mechanical damage, but the left brake lever is a little scuffed. The previous owner also painted his name on the top tube, but I covered it up with some red gaffer⠚¢¬Ä¬ôs tape, which matches really well. He also touched up a few paint spots with his own paint, which has since bubbled a little. The spots are very small and are located under to the top tube, so you cant even see them unless the bike is flipped over.

Basically, this is a rare, cool, vintage Klein (before they were bought out by Trek), that has a lot of great components, needs no work, and is ready to ride. The only reason I am selling it is because I don⠚¢¬Ä¬ôt ride it enough. This bike is FAST, fun, and an all around sweet, ride.

Cash only, local pick up. Shoot me an email and come by to give it a spin.

Nice Fuji Touring Series III

https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ws...292488486.html

I happen to know the seller might be flexible on price and I do know of a good facilitator in the area (Ok, shameless self-promotion, what can I say...but it IS a CL ad).

1984 Fuji Touring Series III, 58cm - $450 (Woodbury, MN)

Date: 2011-03-28, 8:51PM CDT
Reply to: sale-2fqpj-2292488486@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

With a heavy heart I must pass on one of my babies to a new and hopefully appreciative owner

Here we have a 58cm 1984 Fuji Touring Series III. I lovingly restored this bike back to its (pretty much) original state. I believe the pictures speak for themselves. Here is the catalog page at classicfuji.com. You can see the stock configuration here, then Ill list the changes to the bone stock setup:

https://classicfuji.com/TouringSeriesIII_1984_Page.htm

Here are the departures from stock:

Brake Levers: Dia-Compe AGC-250 aero levers.
RD: Suntour XC RD (logo was very worn and ugly, so I removed it totally).
Shifters: Suntour Barcons/bar ends (every touring bike needs barcons right?).
Saddle: Dimension Afton leather.
Fenders: SKS Chromoplastic in black with Planet Bike mudflaps.
Rack: Generic black alloy.
Bottle cages: black alloy.
Pedals: NOT INCLUDED

The aero levers are the big change. It makes for a very clean cockpit and a nice open area for handlebar bags. The XC RD replaced the original Mountech first generation RD, the one that had the funky upper pulley design everyone seemed to hate. The fenders are 45mm fenders so plenty wide for any tire (within reason) youd want to throw on the wheels. Speaking of the tires, I believe them to be Kenda K35s based on the tread, which is excellent yet on both tires.

The bike rides great. I have put about 400 miles on it. The geometry is a little sportier than a pure tourerlittle shorter stays make it a bit quicker turning. I have hooks in the second set of front eyelets that you can use to hook the shock cords from a handlebar bag.

Why am I selling this lovely bike? The stable has grown too large and something needs to go soon. Given that we have nice weather (and wet snow melted roads) coming I figured Id get this fully-fendered beauty out there for someone to enjoy ASAP.

The price? $450. I dont think thats too bad considering:

1) The condition.
2) The fenders and mudflaps ($40 and installed already )
3) The essentially new leather saddle ($45)
4) The barcons ($30-$50 on eBay)
5) The rack ($20).

If you have a saddle you prefer already Im fine with keeping this saddle and knocking some off the price.

If you want to take a test ride respond with your phone number and Ill give you a ring. I should have a set of generic pedals for test ride purposes. Well take a spin around the neighborhood.

Thanks for reading, on to the pics

I've read good things about Zebrakenko when I was researching on a potential frame. If it were a different color, I would be on that. Brown is just not attractive though.

Zebrakenko Sun - Vintage Road Bike, Early 80's - $150 (Milwaukee)

I used to sell them at a bike shop I worked at in NYC. They were fine. The ones we sold were basic bikes. That one looks pretty nice. As usual, they had higher, mid, low end models.

We used to call them "Zebras".
