I got to ride one of those at ABCE a couple years ago. It was by far the heaviest bike I've ever ridden -- including my gaspipe Gitane tandem. Obviously designed to withstand even a direct nuclear assault! Once you get it moving, the ride isn't bad, rather like a Raleigh DL-1. I can't imagine riding it in the Swiss Alps, though!

Not worth $750 IMHO.

I'm the original owner of a 1985 Centurion Sport DLX that I use for my daily commute. I've been actively looking for several months to upgrade to a Turbo, Comp TA or David Scott Ironman Masters. I check ebay and Craig's list religiously, in addition to this forum. I thought I had a Turbo on ebay nailed down a couple of days ago but after making arrangements to have it shipped by the LBS the seller had a higher offer and backed out of our deal. Currently there is an Ironman Masters from the Phoenix area that is listed on ebay. Does anyone out there know anything about this particular bike? I havn't posted much, but I have learned a bunch from all of you and appreciate the collective knowledge.

Short wheelbase , bend in seat-tube model. Recently aquired from original owner. Claims he rode it 1 summer and been stored ever since. Unfortunately it was not stored well and has NUMEROUS paint nicks , and some rust on some componentry. Looks ALOT better in the pics. On the plus side, it rides very well . Shifts fine, and stops fine as well. Tires still have nubs, however the rear tire is losing the gumwall. 22.5" frame . Ride now, restore later

that's why it's been listed and relisted and relisted for over a year now with hardly any change in asking price. i've emailed the guy and he won't budge.

For that paint job... maybe

The seller's asking $120 which is a little steep, but this is a beautiful example of a fairly common bike around here. If it was much bigger I'd consider it as a keeper.

I have up for sale a vintage Eaton's 3 Speed cruising bike. It's in minty condition, no rust on this beauty...chrome rims shine as new, brakes and gears all work good, and wheels are straight and true. A very smooth riding classic. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer 3 Speed cruiser. Yours for $120.00. Thanks.

Yeah, I saw it the other day too and that stopped me from checking out the "Facilitators" thread. It isn't a write off but it could be a real tough business getting that post out.
