I did see a part of his inventory and I agree, he has some rare bikes. But his prices are way, way over the top. Generally, when someone asks $25,000 for bike that won't fetch $2,500 on a good day, he doesn't really want to sell that item. This seller prices all of his bikes this way.

Hi,

I figured it may be better to post here than start a new thread. I know next to nothing about bicycles, aside from basic repairs. Mine got totaled in an accident, so I'm looking. Are either of these fairly priced ($120)?

I'd really like one of these for my painting business. Paint my business name on the frame sign board and park it out front of a house I am working on. Hang a step ladder on it and fill the basket with some paint cans.

That's a whale of a deal for that frameset.

I certainly won't be giving away my Century in a week or two when it goes on the market.

Road Bike Full 105 Tange 1 Tubing Ironman - $275 (SE Portland)

https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/2782670072.html

60cm Dave Scott Ironman Expert. TT is 58cm.
Tange 1 Tubing.
Tange Levin HS is new.
Everything else is original 105 including the hubs.
SPD 520 pedals not pictured.
Specialized saddle not pictured.

All the 105 logos are still present on all components despite this bike's age. It rides smoothly and silently shifts and brakes beautifully. It is not likely you will find a bike of this age with so many original compenents in any better condition. It has been well taken care of. All original decals and paint are intact.

Email if interested, thanks.

Vintage Motobecane Dynamax 10 speed bike - $150 (Commerce Township)

This is a late 1960's Motobecane 10 speed bicycle. It has the Dynamax Badge on it. From what I learned searching on the net, Motobecane could not use their trade name in Canada so they branded their Motobecanes as Dynamax. It is made in France and has all European parts. Huret, Weinmann, Nervar, Sylvia, Pivo and so forth. The frame size is 23 inches and has 27 inch wheels. Email me for more pictures

Anyone looking for a unique small-frame bike in the Texas area?

For $100.00 the seller has a 1987 Lotus Unique with the 700c rear and 24" front wheel. The 18" and 20" frame in 1987 came with the smaller front wheel so the top tube could be proportionately shortened. This model was only available in 1987 (possibly 1988, but I've never seen one). The Unique is between the Excelle and the Classique in the Lotus hierarchy. This model was made with Ishiwata triple butted cro-mo (Mangaloy fork) tubing and came equipped with Suntour Alpha 5000 group, Sugino crank and Araya rims.

Update:

I wrote and asked the owner for a larger photo and they graciously sent one.

Eisentraut in Austin

https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/2778268001.html

"For sale- Albert Eisentraut road frame w/fork and full Campagnolo N.R. equipment. Frame is 55 cm (21 in.) and has not been used in many years. Bike needs tires and clean up to be road worthy. Purchased from Freewheeling Bicycle Shop between 1973 and 1976. I have the original paperwork. Frame was modified with braised on hardware and repainted by Skip Hujsak, who was local artisan frame builder and former Eisentraut apprentice. Shoot me back if interested."

I looked at the bike yesterday. It is one of the lower-end, "Limited" frames that used Prugnat lugs. The bike has a mix of 70s/80s Campy NR. It has a 71 rear derailleur, a 74 or 84 (can't remember now...) crankset, a 2 bolt fluted post, old logo 1A short (80 or 90) stem with old logo criterium bars (40ish width), flat QR brake calipers, black cage pedals, Super Record headset (felt smooth), and hi/lo rear hub/lo front hub laced to 80s era durex rims.

The bike has been repainted and it seems that the only braze-ons that may have been added were the DT shifter bosses. The other braze-ons looked stock. The bike has been sitting for years and is reflected in its condition. The parts look weathered and worn, but appear that they could clean up with a bit of elbow grease (other than the rear derailleur and brake levers which were a bit scratchy). The frameset itself looked to be in nice condition and would probably clean up nicely. All in all, not a bad deal for $300, but not what I was needing at this time.

Cheers,

Texbike

Unique, Hand crank front wheel drive bicycle (Eastchester, NY)

Made this a few years ago, no welding, just lots of tinkering. It's made of two bikes and a few chains, well one and a half maybe. Hand cranks in the place of handle bars. It has a 3 speed hub in the front fork. It is also set up to run single speed in the back (on a freewheel cassette), though one of the cranks is broken/stripped so it's useless right now.

I'd like this to go to a tinkerer as myself. This takes awhile to learn how to ride comfortably and is unique. You'll definitely get stares... Anyway, it was a fun project and I can explain it all to you if you want to check it out. There's a front hand brake mounted on the top tube, as well as the 3 speed gear changer.

So I have no idea what to price this at. I don't think anyone would want to buy it to just ride. Name any price and promise that you won't scrap it because it's really fun (and is definitely usable if you set up the rear drive..it's hard to get up hills with arms alone) and it's yours! (Also by buying this, you are aware of the risks/dangers in riding with a chain ring in your face/chest and I will take no responsibility after it's sold)

I like his liability disclaimer...

All in all, sounds like he just wants to find a new home for it.
