Fuji Special Road Racer road bike - $300 (Newport Beach)

Reply to: fdfxp-2910582537@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

This bike is a classic. I used it in Minneapolis for quick lake trips and exercise, but I don't have a need for it or room in my new place here in Newport so I'm looking to sell. The bike is in good shape, as far as I know everything is working beautifully - though I do not consider myself a "bike guy" by any means, so come and take a look for yourself! It had a tuneup last year at ReCycle in Minneapolis. The tires are close to new and it's got aluminum wheels. The handlebars could use a little fresh tape, but other than that the bike is good to go! I'm about 6'1 and it fits me pretty well so I think it's around a 58cm frame, I'm not positive though.

Cash only - scammers leave me the hell alone!

1972 Schwinn Paramount P15 & 1987 Paramount Bike - $1100 (Ventura)

Reply to: cjrwp-2922556404@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1972 Schwinn Paramount P15 Bike in very good condition. The size is 56cm C-T with a 56cm top tube. This a complete bike with Nervex chrome lugs, Brooks saddle full Campy Super Record, Nuevo Record and Suntour bar end shifters. The bike is ready to be restored, the parts have been pulled and the frame is ready to be shipped to Waterford for a repaint and new decals. Don't be mislead though, it is in very good condition as it is. It comes with an extra set of 700c wheels with Campy Record hubs and Mavic rims in addition to the original Campy high flange 27" wheels. The last photo is of what my intention was for restoring it.

I also have a 1987 Waterford Schwinn Paramount in showroom condition. It is a 56cm as well with Campy Record C and I reiterate it is in showroom condition, flawless, ridden twice in it's life for short rides. I'm looking for offers on it

You have to wonder why the shoes are hanging from the pedals? Wrong (jammed/stuck) cleats?
Or total newbiness?

Windsor Super Carrera Vintage Road Bike - $325 (Columbus)

Nice-quality vintage road bike, made in Mexico. This is likely a 1979 model; a '78 catalog is shown for reference. Appears to be completely original except for new lever hoods & a likely early upgrade of the original Suntour Cyclone rear derailleur for a Shimano Dura-Ace of the same period. The Cyclone is nice, but I like the Dura-Ace even more. Original paint has its share of touchups but still looks pretty nice. Mechanically everything is in excellent condition and the bike is exceptionally clean. It is ready to ride as is, and the ride is very nice.

Features include: 23" Chrome-Moly frame -- Tange #2 double-butted throughout (sticker has come off but research & catalog shows this to be true) with chrome stays front & rear. Shimano 600 brakes & hubs, Suntour Cyclone front & Shimano Dura-Ace rear derailleurs -- 12 speeds. Beautiful concave Weinmann alloy rims. Lots of other nice quality period parts -- see the catalog details for specifics. Brooks B15 leather seat is worn but very comfortable with plenty of adjustment left. Tires are excellent (not original). This bike compares very closely to the 1979 Raleigh Competition GS which I also have.

Ad will be deleted when sold. Email with phone number and time to call for best response - too many spammers. Thanks for looking!

Well that was one option, but then I looked more closely and saw there are ankle bones sticking out of those shoes. Some dude flatted (see the needs new tires comment) and bit it. A sicko came along before the guy could unclip (and maybe put the tacks on the road that caused the massive tire blowout in the first place) and cut the dude off his bike and took off running. All because he desperately needs $180 to get his guitar out of hock which he just found out that his roommate put the phone number the love of his life (with whom he had a one night stand and then she disappeared) gave him in the guitar case, and he aches to see her again. (Too bad the number she wrote down on the cocktail napkin for him is fake.)

Now that's a story! I assume the protagonist now has a nickname along the lines of "Stumpy" or perhaps "Peggy."

Italian SOMEC road bike, 55cm, Full Campagnolo Chorus/Record - $1300 (Brighton)

Date: 2012-03-26, 5:02PM EDT
Reply to: z34rb-2923811959@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Up for sale is a custom Somec road bike, 55cm top tube, and full Campy Chorus/Record 10spd throughout. The frame is Columbus steel, with beautiful details such a custom lugs, pantograph parts and internal top-tube cable routing. Makes for a very sleek looking bike! It was repainted by Cycle Arts, a custom bike shop out of California, so everything is in very good to excellent condition. There are only a few very minor scratches which have all been carefully touched up and can only be seen upon close inspection (less than a foot away). It's fast, has a fantastically smooth ride, and shifts like a dream. Somec is a small, Italian company that specializes in custom frames that are on par with classics like colnago, merckx, cinelli, pinarello, etc - build quality is top notch.

I built it up over the winter, carefully selecting each component, but knee pain is already not letting bike as much as I want to. So, unfortunately, it needs to go to a new home where it will be enjoyed. It cost me well over $1,500 in parts, and I really don't want to tear it down to sell everything separately. It's a beautiful machine as is, and deserves better. A full parts list is below (note: saddle and pedals not included):

Frame: Somec, Columbus steel (55cm TT)
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Chorus
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Chorus
Brakes: Campagnolo Chorus
Crankset/BB/Cassette: Campagnolo Chorus (all brand new campy cables)
Shifters: Campagnolo Chorus 10spd (brand new campy hoods)
Headset: Campagnolo Record (freshly overhauled)
Wheels: Mavic Open Pro, with Record Hubs
Handlebars/Stem: Nitto Dynamic Stem (90mm), Nitto Noodle Handelbars (44cm), Deda bartape (all brand new from Treefort Bike)
Seat post: Campagnolo Chorus (carbon)
Saddle/pedals: NOT INCLUDED

Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions! Josh

Louison Bobet on CL Arizona

Found this forum has a bit of history with this old French bike - so, I thought I would pass it along. It is really far outside of town, but I might go over there and see it if it doesnt sell soon - no affiliation! Attached pics for when it gets pulled from CL, he is asking $200 for it and it seems to look pretty good in the tiny pics.
