Oh yes, still a very cool item....and I have no price guides or close personal knowledge of that collectible segment. That may well be spot on for that particular make and model. There were so many makers of bicycle lamps back then, there are whole books devoted to the subject matter !
Cheers,
Joe

Kinda cool in that most you see are carbide or candle. Not sure I'd want to be bouncing down an unpaved road with a bowl of flamable liquid betwix me legs!

I am thinking of grabbing this ironman if you think it is worth this asking price. I know these are great bikes and think I need it. N+1 is a LAW and I don't want to get in trouble for not following the law.

Thanks! I also posted this in a centurion thread before I found this one. Hopefully I get a response from one of them.

So, I'd offer at most $335. NON- BSOs rarely go for less than that, even on our LSN.
Of course that's also my size. . . You're lucky I'm over 100 miles away.

That seller is a complete doofus...sort of the villian of Philly flippers. Looks like a good deal, but I would not buy without seeing it first hand and don't trust the guy to ship it. Not the sharpest tack - he's one of the DKO dumpster flippers. He's regularly advertised bikes with bent forks, dents...etc. Be wary.

For our market, it's kind of in line. . . I took $340 for my '88 SR500. Wasn't even up long enough for someone to catch it and post it here (disappointment)
So, I'd offer at most $335. NON- BSOs rarely go for less than that, even on our LSN.

A guy was selling a red Pinarello cross bike on here for a fairly long time...he initially wanted $650 for frame only...I offered $400. He's Dutch auctioned it and the last I remember was down to $475. I think it was a 56cm. I can try to find his email address if you want...not sure if it sold. I think it may have included those older Campy cantilevers.

Unless the price skids dramatically, then maybe I need to make it work.

He said he would take $330 so I am going to meet him tomorrow for an inspection and test ride. He says it is a 54cm. That is usually in my range depending on the bike. We shall see.

This is funny stuff, I can lift my 35 pound MTB over my head with one finger, so what does that have to do with anything? It's a Holdsworth made of Reynolds 531 lugged steel which means it weighs between 22 to 25 pounds which is what a lot of steel bikes weigh, it ain't made of anything exotic. But it is a nice bike.
