No, it just SEEMS like a joke. There are crazy overpriced 30+ year old bikes on local CL as well. In fact, some just 4-5 year old bikes are asking more than you can buy them brand new for or maybe just a few $ less. It's crazy. When you can buy the 2012 version with similar (and sometimes upgraded) components for $1,700, your 3 year old bike isn't worth $1,650. Anyway, I'm ranting, but I'm constantly amazed.
But! There are some killer deals on there as well. I'm riding a Felt F2 with full DuraAce components that I bought for $1,300 on CL and that included pedals and a brand new pair of carbon road shoes and some other goodies that would have cost me several hundred, so I keep going back...

Is this humble Marukin worth looking closer at? I need it like a hole in the head but it seems a great bike for someone. Tang #2 tubes nice and clean. It has been listed for several weeks so I would guess the seller would negociate.

The bike is really handsome. But I do not think it was a track bike when produced. Track bikes don't have fork steering locks. To be a track bike the rear ends should face to the rear. The wheels appear undersized to me, especially since I own one and it uses 26 x 1 1/4" wheels. Lot's of effort spent, it is attractive but not what it was.
