Bikes: Felt F2

Liked 3 Times in 1 Post
No, it just SEEMS like a joke. There are crazy overpriced 30+ year old bikes on local CL as well. In fact, some just 4-5 year old bikes are asking more than you can buy them brand new for or maybe just a few $ less. It's crazy. When you can buy the 2012 version with similar (and sometimes upgraded) components for $1,700, your 3 year old bike isn't worth $1,650. Anyway, I'm ranting, but I'm constantly amazed.

But! There are some killer deals on there as well. I'm riding a Felt F2 with full DuraAce components that I bought for $1,300 on CL and that included pedals and a brand new pair of carbon road shoes and some other goodies that would have cost me several hundred, so I keep going back...

Someone tall might find this of interest (I'm on the fence, and leaning towards thinking it's a hair big for my taste):

https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1158143/

This beautiful racing frame was built in Edmonton and is in unbelievable condition. For local buyers, I will happily provide consultation on parts. I may even be persuaded to build it up for you!

Dimensions:
Top Tube: 60cm ct to ct
Seat Tube: 64cm ct to ct
Fork spacing: 100mm
Rear dropout spacing: 126mm
BB shell width: 68mm, ISO
Fork steerer tube: 1" threaded

Material: Reynolds 531 throughout
Lugs: Investment cast
Other: pin on seat tube for vintage Silca style frame pump, chain holder on drive side seatstay, cable guides on BB shell, water bottle braze-ons and shifter braze-ons on down tube, cable guides on top tube
Dropouts: Campagnolo, rear has position screws
Color: Candy Apple Red - pretty much flawless
Bonus: I will include an equally vintage Campagnolo Super Record (single bolt) seatpost. Note that this frame has a 27.0mm not 27.2mm seat tube ID, so I'm saving you some pain here. Also, seatposts in this condition (marks are just from tape) are going for $150+ on Ebay.

Give me a call if you are looking for a classic steel road frame!

The pickings are good for tall folks with deep pockets! This and the Proctor would be the start of a fine Commonwealth of Reynolds rides...

Is this humble Marukin worth looking closer at? I need it like a hole in the head but it seems a great bike for someone. Tang #2 tubes nice and clean. It has been listed for several weeks so I would guess the seller would negociate.

Considering how clean this looks and little evidence of wear on the rims, $1300 might not be too much for this. MSRP was about $2100 in '89, oh yeah this is an '89 not '87. https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/bik/3294581121.html

Univega Via Montega bike. Original owner, and was only ridden a few hundred miles.
  • 21 speed
  • 57cm Chromoly frame
  • Tire size is 700x38c
  • Shimano brakes
  • Kryptonite lock
  • Bottle holder
Would like to sell as a pair, but would consider splitting if you only need one.

Nice bicycles are coming out of the woodwork around here this weekend.

I just picked up a very nice Bob Jackson yesterday for my brother and now this beauty pops up the next day.

I could check it out for you if you'd like.

Early 1980's Holdsworth in very clean condition-original owner. Never crashed. Metalic charcoal paint on a fully lugged Reynolds 531 frame and fork with semi-sloping crown. Campy dropouts.

Period correct components include:

Dura Ace derailleurs and downtube indexed shifters.
Suntour Superbe brakeset
Shimano 600 crankset 52-42
Shimano 600 hubs with Wolber Competition rims, stainless spokes.
Cinelli bar and stem
Unused Selle San Marco Rolls saddle
Veloflex open tubulars

Beautiful bike that rides smooth as only a lugged steel double butted frameset can. Minimal miles and components are in excellent condition.

Anyone want a '82 Nishiki Touring rig + lots of bags? This looks like a real deal for a smaller rider. $150 https://reading.craigslist.org/bik/3251372625.html

I might be able to facilitate this on Wed or Thurs.

Browsing the local kijiji and came accross this, waiting for a response, and although its too small I'd like to use the parts for a pending project. Heck, If you look at the add he said he'd consider a trade for a case of beer... I offered him the beer and the 25 bucks..

I stumbled on this today.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Award-Winnin...item20cb86b475

The bike is really handsome. But I do not think it was a track bike when produced. Track bikes don't have fork steering locks. To be a track bike the rear ends should face to the rear. The wheels appear undersized to me, especially since I own one and it uses 26 x 1 1/4" wheels. Lot's of effort spent, it is attractive but not what it was.
