[h=2]This is seriously tempting me right now; was listed late summer/Fall as well. Would probably fit me nicely and I've always wanted to try a Vitus 979...

this bike is super light & quick!

mostly shimano 600 (Shimano 600 is what became Ultegra) components
8spd indexing downtube shifters
shimano 105 hubs to mavic rims
new cables, housing, brake pads, tubes, seatpost, bar tape

will delete ad when bike sells.

[h=2]Chris Kvale touring frame and fork - $650 (bernal heights)[/h]

Date: 2013-01-02, 5:10PM PST
Reply to this post bmknr-3506367510@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

If you see this ad, the bike is still available. Scammers do not bother with "still available?" or "please revert with current condition." I will not respond.

Chris is known for his thinly filed lugs that almost blend in to the tubes. The lugs on this frame are a great example of his work, the result of which is somewhere between a lugged and fillet brazed.

Frame No. 0001 (first frame for year 2000) was built for John Coleman.

Seat tube 62 cm (ctr to top of TT)
Top tube 57 cm
Head angle 72 1/2°
Seat angle 72 1/2°
Drop 8 cm
Fork offset 4.5 cm
Chainstay 41 cm

Tubing is Columbus PRX. Thoughtful brazeons for fender mounting, clearance for 28s or 30s with fenders, maybe 35s without fenders, internal top tube routing, double eyelets front and rear, low rider rack mounts on the fork, painted to match silca pump.

$650, pick up in SF. I also have a Pass & Stow front mount rack that I bought for this bike. It is available separately for $250, but I will take $875 for a package deal.

If it had a little less seat tube, it would have been living in St. Paul three weeks ago.

I'd factor in a repaint though.

It has some spots that need attention and the paint scheme isn't Kvale's finest moment.imho

I still came within a whisker of trying the frameset anyway when the previous owner had it available on another forum.

If this fits you though, don't afraid to buy one of the more nicely built framesets anywhere.

At a fraction of the new price.

That is my size. Very tempting.

It is ironic that I would have to get a frame shipped half way across the country when it was built a few miles from my house.

[h=2]New Old Stock LOOK KG 223 Steel Lugged Frame/Fork - $300 (noe valley)[/h]

Date: 2013-01-02, 6:44PM PST
Reply to this post mwg4h-3517960746@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

I'm selling a new old stock LOOK steel lugged frame and fork made from Columbus tubing. This HAS NEVER BEEN BUILT UP, and has been in storage for several years. It comes with the original owners manual with hardware. That's the good news. The bad news, which isn't that bad, is as a result of storage, the frame has some paint scrapes, etc. The two major ones are on the rear triangle, which is Chromed underneath, so if you wish, you could strip the rear stays to chrome- problem solved. The others are small and can be touched up with some testors or similar.

Size is 54cm center to center with a 55 top tube.

English thread, takes a 26.8 seatpost.

Please email with questions. Asking $300 Cash, no shipping.

Bob, I still have a rack in my car for you.

As for the Kvale, they are very sweet riding bicycles.

This one is special, as it is one of his sport tourers.

Best of the best.

^I sent a message to that seller, the one that was attempting robbery of $1,200 shipping on the frame. I let him know that we will be watching his sorry glutemus maximus to see if he tries to pull that off again. The seller is an outrageous and flagrant violator of common EBay common practice. Scum and villainy will always try to rob you unjustly of your money. Thanks for letting us know about this criminal.

My daughter might need a Fuso to match mine. Is yours a 54cm frame? There might be a way to replenish your bike fund and drain mine.
