I need to avoid this thread, too many temptations - like that sidecar.

And someday I want to have a Look bike in my size.

And that Colnago Master Light is just like mine except for the components. Nice to see what someone wants for one with paint damage. But also scarey to see how bad chips and dings in the airbrushed paint job make it look. Somehow a solid color paint job wears blemishes better than a fancy paint job.

Oh well, back to restraining my temptations, and browsing nearby CL postings.

Reply to this post k5jqj-3516797698@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

21"/52cm Vitus 979 aluminum road bike
this bike is super light & quick!

mostly shimano 600 (Shimano 600 is what became Ultegra) components
8spd indexing downtube shifters
shimano 105 hubs to mavic rims
new cables, housing, brake pads, tubes, seatpost, bar tape

will delete ad when bike sells.
This Vitus now sits in my garage! It's actually 54cmx54cm...perfect for me. Suuper light.

I am not going to go into details about what this bike is i know that they are somewhat collectible and have a following so hopefully it can go to someone who wants it for parts or to restore it and knows what it is. Low end Campy, been there/done that, didn't like the performance. Now if it were upgraded to something like 980 components, it would sell at that price in a jiffy.

That appears to be a MiniVelo frame. I wonder what size it is and if he still has the wheels.

[h=2]Atala Special 12speed 58cm Tullio steel,Campagnolo,Ofmega,Ambrosio ready to ride - $350 (Lowell)[/h]

Date: 2013-01-06, 5:16PM EST
vncnh-3527044372@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

I have for sale a nice mid 80's Atala Special road bike 12 speeds via friction shifting 58cm Tullio steel framset, Campagnolo derailleurs, Campagnolo shifters, Modolo corsa brakes, Modolo levers, Ofemga crank, Ambrosio 700c rims laced to Miche hubs, 3ttt stem, 3ttt handlebars and a nice San Marco saddle. I personally road this bike over the summer and redid all the cables in July. I recently added some new Kenda 700x25c tires and new black bar tape. I can include a pair of platform pedals upon sale. This is really nice mid quality Italian ride I found the Tullio steel tubing to be comparable to Vittus. Sold for cash and pick up only. Please mention name, item, location and a phone number for a response all other emails will be considered spam. Thanks

I keep looking at that bike too. It was originally sold thru Al Stillers Sauganash cyclery. Al Stiller was a fixture in Chicago cycling. He was a 6 day bike racer in Europe, olympic cyclist, and later a Schwinn dealer. He probably imported these bikes, St. Etienne built, and put the "Sprinter" name on them. Basic low end "bike boom" bike, but I like the history and origin behind it. If the seller would drop his price by a hundred dollars I would be all over it. Keep an eye on it . Looks to be in really good condition.

Selling this nice 12 speed touring bike that is in good condition. It is an 80s vintage, but I took good care of it. Chrome moly frame, oringinal Hurei front derailleur and Shimano rear. New rims. Frame is approximately 23.5 inches measured from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post tube.

Pic is of similar bike, since mine is stored; but the bikes are identical except for the toe clips.

Call or send email for more information. Ask for Antony. 313-647-4524

I didn't bother posting his pic, because it's not the actual bike for sale, but $50 sounds good for a Motobecane, right?

It depends. If the bike is in "storage" in damp dirty barn or has tacoed wheels it might not be worth it.

Nice pickup! I'm glad someone on the forum got it. Definitely interested in a ride report / more pics when you get a chance.
