[h=1]BOB JACKSON 753 ROAD BIKE[/h]http://i.ebayimg.com/t/BOB-JACKSON-7...7E%7E60_57.JPG I know this guy, he's local to me. Good dude with some really sweet vintage bikes(mainly frames). Me being somewhat of a noob, i was in awe at pretty much all the frames he has. I dont know if anyone remembers here, but i asked about an '86 guiblato a little while ago. this is that guy. he's got a lot of nice frames and knows exactly what he has, not cheap, but never crap. man, and this is my size! sheesh what's a guy to do!? |

Did you at least go see the bike? If not then you don't know what condition it was in. You may be right about the condition, but you may also have been wrong, without seeing it you'll never know. Some people don't know what they have and will sell a good bike for less money then it should sell for; some people don't know how to explain a condition of something and will say it's in good condition and in fact be bad, or say it's in fair condition and it could be good, one persons opinion of condition could be different then another. I away's go look at bikes regardless what they say or don't say, then I make up mind if it's junk and time to leave.
But do stay tuned to the CL listings because something will pop up again and in a town the size of Chicago you can guarantee it will. But if you see something you're interested and the price is right you may have to jump fast because in Chicago if a deal is good the item will be gone fast. |

I am not at all knowledgeable about track stuff, but usually I see higher prices associated with the letters NJS. This might be a good price.

Here is a gorgeous 1940s Italian-buiilt Prinetti Stucchi frame. Hard to tell what fair market value is. It is expensive ($2200), but it's such a beautiful and uncommon frame. The workmanship, chrome finish and original paint are all fantastic. Worth checking out the photos, even if it's out of your price range:

A 60cm example just sold on the auction site with Superbee Pro for $1,001. Looks bigger than a 52cm but I would driving to get it. |

That is cheap as long as the black areas aren't covering up some weird damage. I would hope it's not paint. 8 speed Tri color brifters, wooohoooo.

Here's a sleeper
A little Fettling and a respray and this could be a nice one. This is similiar to a Raleigh Blue Streak/Humber Clipper of the mid 60's. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/bik/3788748944.html http://images.craigslist.org/3Ee3I53...17094411f9.jpg |
What might be a Super Course mixte, which would have a 531 frame (main tubes at least), a relatively rare beast. The clue is the downtube shifters. Photos are too poor to tell if there's a 531 decal. Seller seems semi-knowledgeable from the ad. Only $60...but it's halfway to Iowa from Chicago!
