^ Looks slightly  too small for the owner. Geez, is that one long azz stem!

If it is in decent shape, $170 is a pretty good price.

Pars 06-13-13 03:24 PM

This is back up. Aaron was thinking about it previously, and I thought it had been sold to someone else. The same person had another ad with a bunch of bikes, including a Tommasini. Not sure what the deal is with this guy...

"In autumn 1974, Raleigh established its Specialist Bicycle Development Unit (SBDU) for making very small numbers of outstandingly high quality specialist frames and bicycles at Digby Street in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Only six specially selected expert frame builders from the Raleigh factory were chosen for their inventive capability. Frames were built for the Ti-Raleigh continental professional team from the very beginning. The SBDU produced the only British frame to ever win the Tour de France (Joop Zoetemelk, 1980). It worked with Reynolds in developing Reynolds 753 and the first frames were tested by the Ti-Raleigh team in 1974. Fewer than 1000 frames a year were built between 1974 and 1985. Genuine Ilkeston frames can be identified by frame numbers with 1 to approx 9500, prefixed SB."

Very saught after Raleigh TI Team "Ilkeston Made" Reynolds 753 with Campagnolo group. Interested in a trade for a 60-62cm Touring bike or Cyclocross, newer bikes or older Trek 720 etc. I got cash to throw in for the right bike. 630-400-0235

Please accept my apology as I know this is not vintage, but I was having a hard time finding another ebay/CL thread. This bike has got to be more than $30 right?

You mean got to be listed for more than $30 or worth more than $30? Can't answer the first one, definitely worth more than $30.

Definitely worth more than $30 if you are looking for a bike of that type and size. Some people just want to get rid of their stuff fast. Maybe he got it from a friend for $50. Maybe he stole it.

I hate to say it but my first thought was stolen as well...I don't like thinking like that about people. Also, thanks for guiding me to the proper sub-forum!

Edit: I was thinking about posting in that sub-forum but wasn't sure the bike was considered vintage...is there a newer bike valuation thread/sub-forum?

shoota 06-14-13 01:38 PM

Don't worry about vintage/non-vintage too much. If it's carbon then maybe ask in the 41 otherwise don't fret about it.
