The rear wheel is not running true, the chain is too long, and the brake cables likely need replacing.

The bike is a medium project well worth it if you want to fix it up; will last for a solid 5-10 years of commuting with those new/adjusted components! I thought the folks in this community might like a fixer-upper.

Hey Alex,
Your link doesn't work and this isn't the place to be selling your stuff. There's a paid For Sale section for a reason, you can find it at the top of the C&V page.

This is very rough around the edges but if the fork belongs to that frame it should be SLX. Only $50 + $30 shipping w/ 5 days left.

**EDIT** I didn't realize until this morning that all the brake cable guides are broken off, bummer.

Miyata 1000

Nice looking Miyata 1000(except for the goofy handlebar setup)......unfortunately, the seller is trying to conduct his cl ad like a silent auction, so no telling how high the price will get.

https://salem.craigslist.org/bik/3910949827.html

Miyata One Thousand (NE Salem)

I have a Miyata One Thousand, looking for a bicycle whisperer that can give this bike the love and attention it deserves. I gained possession of it with the intention of truing it and keeping it for myself, but when I realized that the frame is too big for me, I just gave up on my whole ambition. I don't know the year and I don't want to ask too much for it, so I'll consider all offers and probably take the best one. Check out the pictures and tell me what you think!

I flag ads that say 'taking offers'. Maybe we should post a 'Flag This Ad' thread...

[h=2]Wonderful Classic Trek 610 Road Bike, Shim' 600, XL 22"/ 62cm - $300 (Somerville/ Medford)[/h]

Wonderful condition Classic Trek 610 Road Bike, Shimano 600, XL 22"/ 62cm

Need an awesome road bike summer riding or even commuting? Tall guy looking to cruise? Need a bad-weather bike to keep your new bike clean on the worst days we've been having?

Check out this classic AMERICAN MADE Trek 610! Size XL: 22"/ 62cm frame, great condition, with super reliable parts.

22"/ 62cm bike for a rider 6'0"- 6'4" give or take. The new seatpost will slightly extend the range on the high side.

Tough as nails, easy to service, super comfortable material and construction for our less than perfect roads here on the east coast. Far superior ride quality when compared to most aluminum bikes, and still light!

Highlights:

-Handbuilt in Waterloo WI, double butted lugged steel frame and fork. Of the finest quality and craftsmanship, this frame will last forever. This bike lived most of it's life in California, so its in great shape.
-Shimano 600 (what what now called Ultegra) drivetrain, with a new rear derailleur. Bar-end shifters, super durable, not finicky, and super easy to work on.
-Brand new Bontrager Saddle and seatpost.
-Brand new tires. (27x1.25")
-27" Alloy wheelset, true as a dime and in perfect condition. Hubs also recently serviced.
-Just finished with a tune up and lubrication, ready to ride for years!
-Oh yeah, comes with the pump and the waterbottle cage seen in the picture.

This bike has been owned and service by a professional mechanic. Every year around this time I try ditch a large section of my fleet of bikes. I ride a size 54cm, about 4 sizes smaller than this one, so I never ride it. After the most recent work was completed, this bike has hung out in my cool and dry hanger just waiting to be ridden. I can assure you the bike is in wonderful condition and would be blast to ride if only the right rider came forward!

Come take it for a testride, you'll love it. If you have any questions, let me know.

Meet in Porter Square, evenings usually work best! Have tall friends looking for bikes? Let them know whats up!

Respond to this add or text me at 781-572- one five zero one.

Thanks for looking!!

What is the deal with Boston? Tons of nice bikes for sale at reasonable prices. I am going to have to make a trip out there, rent a truck, fill it up and head on home.
