2 Hetchins of note on ebay.uk

This 51 Latin series has some of the nicest lug work I've seen, fancy but not over done, (if you like that kinda thing)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-vinta...item2ec96e218e

The second appears to be an early Vade M. frame that has been updated with cable stops and modern drop-outs, the fork is a replacement and looks bent too. The head tube looks to be for a Clip style headset, nice

that's been on the market for at least a year, I think if someone offered him a reasonable price he would probably consider it.

If his starting price is $5,900, somehow I doubt it.

Maybe, but you will never be able to negotiate a lower price with that attitude. The worse the seller will say is no to a lower price, he may come back with a counter offer which the buyer can accept or reject or counter again. Most sellers of used stuff have a magic number they're looking for, it's buyers job to try to find it.

I probably have a different attitude than most. I value my time too highly to go chasing rabbits and dickering with CL sellers. More importantly, I have no interest in such a bike.

Agreed. But he's allowed to ask whatever he wants. Hope he doesn't mind sitting on it for a while, somehow I don't think he does

And after you ride it around the block, the depreciation will immediately be $4,000 or the equivalent of $8,000/mile. Such a deal!

The Paramount isn't really that far off, 5500, is about as far down as I'd go.

There was about 500 of them and the gold is gold plating

Just don't go jousting with your gold-plated bikes if you hope to retain any value at all.

Some people really like these. For a touring bike, it's priced at the low end. If it checks out, it's probably a good deal.
