"A bicycle built to fit a 5'5 around 130-150lb woman"? (I love how any small bike in pink or purple is assumed to be for a woman.) My first thought was that it's a junior/terry bike. Looks more like it would fit someone closer to 4'5". It's making my online sizing radar go on the fritz. Sellers should know to provide sizing dimensions in their ads, especially for a nice bike like a Chris Kvale. Are those even 700c wheels?

Don't know, but I feel like going down there to take a look.

Couple of nice restaurants in that town....

One thing I will say about Kvales, is that I have seen more "interesting" sizing on his framesets than many other customs combined.

Maybe I'm just hyper sensitized because I am nuts over his bicycles.

I'm not quite sure. If I had an extra 90 laying around I would go buy it out of curiosity to go with my bikesdirect Mercier haha

I had one of these but in cappucino brown. I don't recall the name of the model but it is quite low end tubing and componentry. However, with some fenders it would make a great townie. I sold mine for $225 a few years ago.

Not sure if it's a no-no to link to another forum or not, but I saw this on Paceline. Vitus 979 with 7 speed DA, looks pretty mint. If I were near FL I might pick it up for that price. https://forums.thepaceline.net/showth...ighlight=vitus

Something like this mixte? Ponderous , but amazing preservation makes it a fun bike. Like finding a 70's Citroen in perfect condition. Only much cheaper and easier to store.

Speaking of mixte's, there's a TALL one on the local (well.....it'd be local if I was at home) CL. Paint looks good and it's mostly all there although I'd guess it's some variety of Peugeot's 'Le Pipe' Tubing.

'85 Women's Peugeot for Tall Women 36" Seat Ht - $99 (Niwot)

Another 27" frame Cannondale from CL, this one is a 1990 ST600, all Deore drivetrain, cantilever brakes and 130mm rear spacing.
It popped up a stone's throw from where my daughter lives, and my son in law picked it up for me last week.
$250.00 may seem a lot for a 23 year lot bike, but these are RARE, especially with canti's and 130mm.
I'll pick it up in the spring on our next visit to the area.

It is so strange. I searched for one of these things for YEARS..... and now, they are coming out of the woodwork...

MASI gran criterium - $450 (Fresno) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/4087408129.html

This thing looks pretty nice; he also has 3 other Italian C&V bikes in the listing. Crazy bunch of rambling could just as easily qualify for the "Wacky World of CL" thread....

^I am thinking this is a case of too good to be true. Note that is a 1st gen C-record group with engraved logo on the crank arm. There recall recently there was a scammer in Fresno advertising very nice bikes and using pictures found on the internet. Some people here recognized some of the photos. Note also all of the convoluted options for delivery by Amtrak, mailing a deposit, etc. Seems fishy. I'd be very skeptical. If it was local, I would be willing to try to check it out. But I'm not going to drive a couple hours to Fresno for a bike that doesn't exist, and no way I would send any $ before seeing the bike in person.

I am searching for a good Masi, so was interested...but...upon reading the ad, I immediately went "WHOA!"...particularly since I would need it shipped...this sounds VERY fishy...

^^^ Also meant to add that, since he does not include pictures of the other bikes...why would you not simply create a few more ads with those pictures...the poster probably needs to search out pictures of the bikes he is talking about...

Hmmm...

Who wants an old French bike with a bunch of oddball obsolete French parts? Why not save your money and buy a thousand dollar new bike. The more you spend the faster you go. I read it in the 41.
